ROTJ EE-3 color

Hi, could do with a bit of help, what color of grey (the MR EE-3 looks dark grey) do people use for the ROTJ EE-3? I’ve used Krylon COVERMAXX black primer but look way too dark and wondered how people get the grey look. I have some ideas for the rust/sand weathering but want to get the base color right first.

I used krylon matte black on mine, weathered it with a few mists of grey primer then "dry brushed" it with silver and maroon hobby paint on a kitchen sponge, and finished it off with one more misting of the matte black.

[Fettology]

I personally love the Poly Scale Grimy Black. It's a gray black color and with a few oversprays of some light tan tones it really makes it pop like the screen used one.
