My ESB Boba Fett helmet paint job

Hey guys!

I just received this fantastic kit from ToEleven, and I intend to give it a good, detailed ESB paint job and finish.
I want it for display at home, as part of my collection.

I'm very comfortable using spray cans to paint, so am wondering if I colud use those on the base colors: like the silver, greens, reds.
And then I'd give it the fine details with airbrushing and dry brushing.

You think this is a good approach? Any recommendations on painting, paint brands or masking are most welcome.

Very excited about his new project and getting to know you guys. I'll give it my best to make it rock.

Hey guys! I'm going to start painting my ESB helmet in the coming weeks. So, I ordered a Rustoleum Spruce Green 7737830 from eBay.
Is it the correct tone for the top lid and bottom cheeks?

I’ve just done my Hasbro too. I reduced the the gap between visor and helmet like you. I changed the visor too but can’t seem to get the bend in the visor. Without ruining it lol. Beautiful job! I have not repainted just added more detail to damage effects. Did u change your visor? Any advice?

Haven’t done a full re-paint just detailing got rid of the gap between visor and helmet to make flush. Change the visor to a shade 5 but I’ve gone through 5 so far and cannot get the curve.

I did change the visor. Got it from T-Visor.com
It was already pre-bent, but I warmed it up a bit with a hair dryer, just to make it a bit easier to work with , since I had to dremmel it a lot to get the outside edges to match up with the inside of the helmet plates and screw holes.

I know a lot of people have mentioned that color, and I am actually interested in seeing it. I don't know if I've seen anyone's Fett's knowing they used that color. I like the color.
I personally like Tamiya's Field Gray, but that's the thing ,even the current Spec Ed Fett helmet prop, used on ESB, isn't currently the same color it was in 1980, so really, we have no REAL quality picture reference.

I've seen pics with this kind of grey color. I like how it looks.

The flash is dulling and lightening the color, unfortunately.
My eyes think the Grey color you mention doesn't have enough of a slight green to it.
Tamiya's Field Grey is still IMHO, closer.

Silver coating applied! I'll let it dry for a couple of weeks, and do some painting experiments on some scrap plastic before I move on.
