Shure hope this works!

Hey all, My girlfriend got me a new dig. camera for my graduation. I can finally post some pics!! Whho-hoo. As you can see, I really have to do some figuring out w/ my new toy, (pretty new to this pic stuff )but I was so excited that I had to try & post a pic right away. (Bet some of you were wondering if I actually was working on a costume since I never posted a pic before!) Anyway, this is some of the stuff I currently have. MB armour-(repainted 5 or 6 times:lol:) and 96 DP, (also repainted 5 or 6 times) I'm planning on upgrading the whole thing as cash allows, but its a start I guess. thanx for looking.
*Mods: if this is taking up too much space feel free to delete it right away

THanx for fix'in my pic Sergio, & thanx for the comments guys! I kinda feel like I finally joined the gang now that I can post pics of some of my work. I'll try to get some more pics up later! Oh yeah; my missing R/F. Had a little accident after a party & it got pretty much trashed. You can also see a big white strip on the left side of the helm. She's cracked all the way through. Thats why I had to turn my head that way. Thanx again for the comments guys! :)

Looks Great! The paint job is very nice. What color did you use for the visor area? Also, give us some info on the cape.

I'll have to do some checking on the colors I used guys. I painted this thing right before Halloween, and everything is custom mix w/ airbrush. I don't remember exactly what colors I use for shure. The visor was a combo of one of the testors reds and I do remember using a healthy portion of testors "rust". Also I did tons of misting w many shades of grey. All my paints are at my fathers shop back home & I won't be going back there for a couple weeks, but rest assured I'll post the exact paint brands/numbers as soon as I get back there. Sorry! don't want to seem like I'm with holding info, just can't remember. They cape was pretty simple, but I have no idea what the # is for the fabrick. I bought this at JoAnnes off a clearance rack. got the last 3 yards for like 10 bucks. I'm positive its wool. I'll take it back there & see if I can get it matched up the real # if anyones interested. for the stripe on it, I just masked of a strait line & misted it w/ krylon ruddy brown primer, then misted w/ red. Sorry I couldn't be more help guys, but I did most of this stuff a while back before I joined TDH, & really didn't figure anyone would want to know details! Guess I shoulda paid closer attention. I'll get it figured out & let ya know.

That cape looks great, we'd love to know exactly what you used, if it's not too much trouble to find out.
Keep it up! :)

Okay folks, I spent most of the afternoon messin around w/ this. I went back to the place where I originally got the material for my 1st cape. That was over a year ago, so of course I couldn't the exact material. I did however, find the same material, but it was of lighter color. A bit too light if you ask me, but I wanted to try this again. the material I used is not wool, I had 3 little old ladies help me out, & its 100 percent acrylic felt. I'm not shure exacly what the real ESB cape is, but this stuff is a damn fine suspect! It seems to have the right "drape" qualities. the color I used on the new one is camel. (I know, way too light. :( )

I bought one yard & trimmed off about 6" of length. Next I ran it through the wash on cold, then masked off the stripe w/ masking tape. I sprayed the stripe in w/ red oxide primer from tractor supply. Dont laugh! Its alot quicker & easier than using dye, & after while it softens up quite nicely. Worked for me anyway! I let it dry for a bit, and then ran it through the dryer on low heat. As you can see, this one is still pretty stiff, but my first one was too. You can run it through the dryer a few more times to soften it up, or eventually it will become tattered and soft on its own as you use it. I'll probably finish this one by rippin a few more holes in it, maybe some black mist on the bottom. Hope that gives you guys some ideas. I know its still a ways off from accurate, buts its really easy to do, costs about 10 bucks, and you can do it in just over 3 hours. And it still looks pretty cool,:)

Very cool Damian, I think I'll explore that :)

I've been thinking of making a poncho instead of the cape and I think that might do very nicely...

I had also long wondered about how well just spraying it would work, gives it that worn tattered look.

Thanks for all the work you put into this adventure today :)
