Jango knees project (multi-size)

Hey guys. Just as with my ammo belt project, I've finally reached the point where one size of knees no longer works for trying to meet the armor needs of the variety of members here. The results are modifications to a cast of the BKBT knees made over the years. The original BKBT knee cap has an inside clearance from tab to tab of approximately 4.25", while the larger knee should have an inside clearance of around 4.75". The height of the knee hasn't been altered, but for some reason looks taller when placed next to the original. I've also started a knee cap that will fall between those two widths, and will post comparison pics when it's ready. Constructive criticism is welcome as always to try and get these as acceptable as possible.
Take it easy,
lorenzo

Here's a better pic of the original BKBT knee size next to the widened version. I'll do a little more work on creating the curved bottom before molding.

I only know the dimensions of the BKBT knees, sorry. I've already started on the medium size and will post pics as soon as it's ready.

I was able to finish both of the new sizes this weekend. The medium knee cap (bottom left) will have an inner width of approximately 4.5" when trimmed and I spent a little extra time giving the top lip slightly more angle after looking closely at the ref pics. I also gave the bottom of the larger knee cap (bottom right) a little more curve. They should be ready for silicone unless anyone sees something that needs to be fixed.

I wasn't happy with the contours of the sides and bottoms after looking a little more at the reference photos. So I made a few changes and I think I am finally happy with the results. A coat of silver paint, hit them with some steel wool, and they're ready for silicone.

Alright guys, both the medium and large knee caps are sleeping in silicone and will be ready for de-molding this time tomorrow. Luck was on my side because had I made the mold boxes bigger, I would've had to order more silicone catalyst and wait another 4-5 days [emoji53].

I should have the first pulls to show off by Sunday evening or Monday. I'm thankful this project is coming to its end [emoji4]

Sorry about the lack of light. The fresh silicone released some sort of gassing that negatively reacted with the initial cc layer, so I had to sand off the tackiness. Just wanted to show off the sizing with these pics.
