Is my Helmet Colors correct?

Hello Everyone!

I have painted my dome using the correct Humbrol Colors the Mind Meister Paint guide, EXCEPT 1 color. I used a spray can for the Final Green. I used Rustoleum Spruce Green as it was to my understanding the correct color for the ESB dome. However now I am worried it is too dark.

Thoughts???

Should I repaint it with Humbrol Green 78???

Thanks Guys

Thanks Grenater!

Yeah I may just airbrush the green, I have the humbrol Green 78 to do the job. This time I will make the silver dent more movie accurate ;-)

Rustoleum spruce green is the closest rattle can, and works pretty well for armor, as a base color. It is then heavily weathered and it really tones it down alot when you do that. But for the helmet its not right. If you have an airbrush and were using Humbrols/airbrush for everything else, the 78 is the way to go.

Also, hitting the helmet with a light buff of 0000 steel wool and adding some weathering washes will tone down the colors alot. Right now it looks too vibrant

I think Moss green is a better match to be honest. After weathering spruce is to dark.

Could be, never tried it..went from the spruce to airbrush colors. lol Back in 2009 when i painted my armor the foirst time, spruce green was supposedly the best match

the green looks ok to me (just a bit vibrant as said earlier), but it's the red for me that stands out as being too bright, looks like it needs a good weathering

Yeah, I have exact same vibrancy to the red on my helmet. You used POLLYScale PRR Maroon and Caboose for those colors? Or did you use Humbrol for those parts too?

+1

I used an undercoat of spruce and then misted on the moss green until I got the right shade. Looking back on it, I'd probably just go straight moss green for time's sake. The shading isn't all that different between straight moss green and spruce + moss.

Dont ever give up sometimes first times the charm, or the second....or the third! I'm scratch building a bucket for the second time, first time was hideous. Take advice from the members ask questions, if your not happy with it. May the force be with you!

Thanks Guys!

So do you think my armor is ok with Spruce Green, just need to add some black weathering?

depends? are you happy with it? thats all that matters if you want the most accurate colors and tones then yes, you should, there's lots of intricate detail on the helmet particularly which is were you either go big, or go home as in my opinion its the most important part. but what matters to me is... does it look like how boba fett is meant to be or is represented in the films? now that's also up to you.
