Helmet dimensions

Right, i know i wouldn't be making a helmet (i'd be buying one) but i'm just curious about this. Ok, the top half of a bucket is round, but on the bottom only the rear of the helmet is round, and the font is angular, so, how does the front half get from round at the top to angular at the bottom???.......confusing, i know...
