I’ve seen a couple of these around the forums and decided to give it a go. Got the base costume in the mail today.

Not terrible at all. I’m 5’6”-5’7” and about 150lbs and medium is a little big—mainly in the pants and belts—but it’s workable. I found after taking these pics that folding over the pants’ waist on itself to shorten them helped a lot. Might get the vest taken in a little at some point too.

For the gauntlets I bought the Disney Parks disc-shooting gauntlet toys to modify and took my black series helmet apart to gut the internal details, giving my big noggin more room.

Also bought a 3D printed jetpack from 3dcauldron. Lightweight and well-printed. Already started coating some pieces with UV resin.

I’m on the fence about how to go about making the rest of the armor. I originally considered using EVA foam because I’m quite experienced with it but I’ve heard great things about Sintra. It doesn’t seem too difficult to use and has the bonus of being actual hard armor.

Hoping to have this finished by Halloween.

That will be a cool Halloween costume for sure!!
Sintra is a popular choice for budget builds since its easy to shape and has a smooth finish. What armor parts are you planning on making? Are you planning on replacing the vinyl armor?
Jetpack print looks very clean!

Yep! Going to replace all the vinyl armor. I’m planning on making the chest pieces, collar, and kidney. I’ve bought some B-grace ABS knees from Neopropshop and some 3d printed shoulders. I have a back plate and cod from DHPFX from an old scrapped build laying around. Was thinking of using those instead of making them cause they don’t look as easy to make but I may have trimmed the backplate too small on the shoulder bridges so we’ll see. Could potentially make some shims.

Looks like you got some nice upgrades. The flightsuit almost looks thick like coveralls, is it?
Yes! It’s quite nice and thick, however the inside of the shirt has some kind of shiny lining? Like what you’d see on a jacket. It’s nice but feels kinda weird on bare skin and also adds another unnecessary layer of fabric which won’t be fun in not-cold weather. Might see if I can cut it out.

Yeah it did look that way in the pics. Cutting out the liner should be easy enough thing to do. Good luck look forward to seeing your progress.

I used the base flight suit from this costume for my fett for a while. After dying and some small alterations it made for a very good flight suit for the price. Keep in mind that some of the flight suits from this costume are cotton and some are synthetic material - you will have to check it yourself to see which version they sent you. The cotton one makes for a better base since it is easily dyed and can be shrunk down if it is too big on you. The synthetic one is decent as well but is a little more challenging to dye.

The flak vest is also pretty decent, although unfortunately it is made in the wrong material. I have since moved on from using this flight suit but the flight suit by itself is a solid base for starting a build.

How much was the original costume? I’ve looked online but some places want like 250 bucks and probably due to where I am located on AliExpress seem really expensive.

Finally working on this build. Decided to repurpose some old DHPFX jango gauntlets I had lying around rather than the undersized Disney parks gauntlets. I had to build the calculator area out of sintra and worbla, then reinforced it with epoxy putty.

Also added some other boba details with sintra.

Cut out that uncomfortable jacket liner. Much more comfy now.

Glued my gutted black series helmet back
together.

And scratch built shin tools out of wood dowels, Sintra, and Eva foam.

Test fit the pieces with my new Chinese boots. Looks pretty good.

And finally tore the original gross pleather armor off the flak vest.
