General ROTJ costume build (conversion from SE)

Great build so far! I think this is the best method to use for the armor, because the diameter difference of the grommets and the plastic screws allows the plates to move slightly and sit "naturally" on the vest/torso.
They used that cable to power the chest light, which had a power source (as you correctly assumed) in the left thigh pouch:

I've had a lot of help from jbdubz with correcting my jetpack paint work and weathering that I've spent the past 2 months or so working on. Left image shows the ROTJ hero JP with all the distinguishing marks while the right is the SE which mine is based on.

#UPDATE 9 March 2019: It has been determined that the hero jetpack does NOT have a dental file, so I have since removed mine.

As you can see, this required painting over the beautiful paintwork by Daz (Bobamaker) to dial back the weathering on some areas and to add to others. It absolutely broke my heart to do it, but it had to be done.

I decided I might as well install real hardware for the greeblies and ordered all the items. In the next update, they will be installed and all that's left after that is to suit up and say cheese!

I finally got to work on the armor attachment assembly. Specs are based off RafalFett 's blueprints. It's a tedious process as it requires 23 sets of a 2-part plate that houses the M5 plastic screw. Thanks to Major , we got most of the work done by laser cutting the base squares. I trimmed the corners and drilled the holes for 46 pieces!

I installed brass grommets onto my vest, stuck the plastic screw units onto the armor plates, and assembled them except the left chest plate.

These screencaps clearly show a cable wrapped in silver tape exiting the left chest plate and running under the girth and ammo belts. I am guessing, and it seems logical, the cable supplied power to the chest display from a power source in the left thigh pouch or in one of the ammo pouches.

To replicate the silver cable, I removed the chest display unit and lengthened the cable so it's long enough to reach my left thigh pouch.

I'm going to look for silver tape tomorrow to wrap the cable and attempt to complete the vest, along with the wookiee braids.

My jetpack is 99% complete now with the hardware installed. It's just missing the right angle female plug on the bottom.

I also received beautiful upgrade parts from Dakota for my right gauntlet darts and knee armor launchers. See how they compare to my current greeblies below.

I know I've said this a million times, but it's getting close...

Painted, weathered and installed the right gauntlet darts and knee launchers by Dakota.

Started work on the mysterious plate on the cape.

I eyeballed and corresponded its size and shape against reference photos to fabricate it out of styrene plastic.

The placement of the plate in the reference photos seems to be in the corner of the cape. My cape came with a grommet in that location so I removed it and marked the spot for the second screw.

I ordered some M4 round head slotted screws and will be able to share the assembly some time next week.

Indeed Don. But I'll wait till I lock down the placement of the plate first.

Correct! The plate and stud are separate. Stud attaches the cape to the collar on the far left, while the plate is simply attached to the cape beside that stud.
