6 Days and $16 dollars later... Pizza Fett!

Germ

New Hunter
Thanks to the ingenius mind of Honus, I was inspired to create my very own cardboard fett for this upcoming halloween. With 6 days before the first party of the Halloween season I really had to get to work. And being a college student (a very poor college student), I had a budget of less than $20. This meant serious thrift store scrounging... :p

My boba consists of:

- a $1 naval flight suit
- a one dollar dark green drape converted into a jet pack worn cape
- 8 pizza boxes
- 3 beer boxes
- $3 laceless shoes
- 40ft rope from a construction site
- $8 of spray paint at 1.98 a can.
- 3 see-through tinted paper folders
- $2 for a pack of brushes
- Spackling left over in a bucket
- $2 roll of velcro =)

Pictures of the product:

on the 5th day, my good buddy trent modeled my costume for the dorm:

... ill post some of the pictures from the first party when i get some =P

... also, i am attempting to finish the costume entirely so ill continue to post pics of my frugal fett.

Well its still a v2000 series so very close. Ya i love mine also. I ordered 3 extra batteries through business depot so that my wife can watch movies in the car when we travel.

Quick question off the subject, where do ya go to college and what are ya majorin' in? Reason I ask is because I saw some of your progress posts, and it sounds like you are one smart feller right there!:cheers

Anyway, nice job puttin' that together and thanks for sharin' the pics.

lol, thanks, but I think you're thinking of Honus (Jerome i believe)... he is the true mastermind behind the cardboard fett. Honestly, look at the beautiful jet pack he is currently constructing.

Edit: After this little Halloween adventure I'm almost tempted to start a serious Boba project.... maybe willing to spend a little more money
.

Very good. I am quite impressed.

You should try a full fett. You will be supprised with the money you can come up with if you cut down on the Pizza and hit the bar easy on the weekends. I built my $3,000 TE Sandtrooper while in college (double time student @ 20-24 units) and working part time job on the weekends.

Dude, you should build your own Fett. My advice is to avoid buying stuff thats finished. You can get unpainted gauntlets and all that stuff pretty cheap. Take time to plan out each piece and you can have a fairly low cost Fett that looks great. Plus you get the props from the people on here for going diy.

yeah, ive been putting a lot of thought into building my own fett. I think I'm going to start by replacing my cardboard armor with sintra or trash can armor but this time go about making them accurate to ROTJ.

First, however, I must go about getting a job... =P

(also, i was browsing and found the cheap way to make the boots. I might just attempt that out of curiousity..)
