On the other hand i think it would be interesting to see some steel armor! I do know you can make a lid from pepakura and reinforce it with fiber glass and poly urethane. I am also doing a custom mando so and ideas would be great!

Thanks so much hobbit! You've been a huge help in getting me to where I am. I have a paint test using the hair gel technique on my WIP thread. It didn't turn out perfect but I think I just needed to let everything dry a little bit more. still pretty happy with it though.
Raf said somewhere that you should to a paint test before trying it on the armor. So that's exactly what I did! I used Hobbit's idea of using hair gel for masking fluid and it seemed to work nicely, but I think I need to let everything dry better next time before peeling it all off. One...

Hey thanks! I used a blade for the chest and the blade method requires less cleanup, because the dremel is melting a lot of the plastic which afterwards needs to be broken off and sanded. But it was a much quicker and safer method for I was stressing about slipping and dismembering myself with a...
