Death Watch Clone Wars Mando Armor

I've given the holsters some thought, and the only thing I can think of that would work is a hidden support belt and straps under the flightsuit to hold the weight of the thigh armor, holsters, and blasters. I can't see any other way to hold all of that weight in place.

I was thinking similarly... I was actually plotting a sort of combined jetpack harness / thigh suspension kit.

Hard to describe, but something where you would wear something... underarmor / tshirt / whatever under your flight suit.

Put the harness on with straps that come out of holes in the shoulders of the flight suit (same as the vest), and straps that come down off of the harness to the legs for the thigh armor. That would distribute the weight, make sure they all work together correctly, and should be relatively easy to wear.

The leg armor would still be secured to the suit, but would get the added boost from the harness.

Nothing like the sweet smell of silicone in the morning.

Looks great!!! I must say that is a rather big mold, oh and don't forget the pour holes.

Ok, first pull is done and I was able to see where the air bubbles gather. It's a little heaver than I had hoped, so I will experiment with some Feather Lite resin for the next cast. This weekend I'll try to find some time to begin the hoslters, as well as finish up the shins. (y)

Thanks guys. I did a 5 min. paint job on them to get the details to stand out. I misted the darker parts because I didn't have any charcoal grey. I didn't even bother to sand down the seam lines. No biggie...I just didn't like it being all white.

Thanks Superprops, but this is nothing compared to your Weequay mask sculpt. That thing is amazing....I'm excited to see how your mold turns out for it.

Wow, that taper sucks for my design. But I also noticed that the trigger guard doesn't have the taper seen in the Insider ref. pics, and there are a few inconsistencies in the blaster diagram where the dimensions/layers don't match up. I wonder if there might be variations in the design?

I had seen the full body profile shot and was hoping to use it to dial in my armor sculpts. Thanks for the ref. pics. (y)

I agree about the taper, sometimes you can cling too much to "canon", your blasters look way cool like they could make it in a Frank Miller joint!

Yeah, I wouldnt consider the taper a must have feature on the gun. There are plenty of "down the barrell" views of the gun and the taper is completly absent.

In fact to screw canon, early production of Pre Vizsla even had him in clone armor according to production notes at Star Wars .com

need proof?

and check out this funky helmet too

they said "The Clone Wars: Voyage of Temptation" episode 13 season 2 was the first to be produced using Pre Vizsla as a character and his suit hadn't been fully fleshed out by then.

Look at the first capture, even the cape is a different graphic on the outside.

Cruzer: you gonna have this done by Anime Expo here in Los Angeles? Gonna go? July, tic tock tic tock...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I don't think Viszla looks as cool with that clone armor on.

I'm already trying to figure out how I can make a v2 that is more accurate. I wish I would have had those great profile pics when I was building my blaster, but oh well. I don't think I did too bad of a job for just having the SW Insider pics to go off as reference...

Keep in mind that the image is a CONCEPT image the one you see in the clone wars is a little different(at least for the cad bane concept image).
If you want it to be more accurate I would take a little off the top and make the trigger a little different. It looks great anyway... ...oh and hows the armer coming along?
