New Hunter
I am chronicling this build in detail at the Daughters of Death Watch site and with the Bounty Hunters Guild, but wanted to share some here, get input, and find some tutorials/item sales for the bits I am missing!

After the episode aired, I spent an hour photographing the screen to collect detailed shots and you can find them here: Bo-Katan Screenshots

I've got my shin, knee, and ab plates finished, but am struggling with gaunts and boot covers.

Well, the Helmet is crude -> but we all know: "The first helmet is always the difficultest"

But i love your Paintjob. It fits the Idol and it hides the lack of detail pretty well by giving the first look no attackspots.

Thanks! I am using 3mm Sintra. So far, the boot covers are the only thing I am struggling with as far as molding it. The gaunts are a challenge but it is more a build issue rather than difficulty with the material.

Hey!

Yes, it is a first, as is apparent lol. I am reworking some of the bits that are the most "crude". Just built a new attachment for the rangefinder and am reworking the sides to make the lines straighter. Same for the attachment at the back. If you have a moment to point out a couple of things I could work on, I'd appreciate the feedback. Thanks also for the comments on the paint job. Her armor (as is Viszla's in season 4) is pretty beat up and I wasn't sure if I should show that or do a cleaner paint. I feel like the cleaner version would be less authentic.

dont worry, my first Deathwatch helmet didnt Looked that perfect either. Dont worry the Pix speak for his own

Bo uses afaik the same Bootplate like the normal Grunts do. I just took a Jangostyle Boot-Template and cut its edges to a right angle. this the rest is just a glued rectangular plate with roundsanded edges on top

Somehow the Clone-Wars stuff is always muddy and seems like having thick crusts of Oil and Dirt on it even shineys and jedis XD So you may wanna put some black-brown waterbased paint on it and rub it off once dried.

Thanks! I will give the Jango idea a try! Sintra won't curve the same way, and I was worried about it not being thick enough, but I think I can do a combination that will work.

As for the weathering, I still need to add some more depth to it, and change the knee guards, and front of the shin guards to blue to match the latest released images. I think it will make a big difference in the end!

Well, i used 3mm Hardfoam PVC. Its like Sintra but it needs a higher temperature.
But you should try first with a Paper template before wasting material ;-) If the Jangotemplate wont work, you might get yourself a newspaper and a magic Marker. Press the Paper down on your ankle and mark the lines you think the Plate should look. - Then cutting and unfolding and your got your template (or atleast a raw draft)

i used RAL5010 Enzianblue for the Season2 DW
but Bo's knees fit more with RAL5009 "Azure" and her Cheeks with RAL 5013 "Cobalt"
But i' not sure with the Azure when comparing Bos Pics with the Color palette it could be 3 diffrent colors...
But then Again i recognize that you may not common with the RAL-Palette so i guess "Bleu de France" or "Celestial Blue" could be the one.

I got the symmetrical Jango template and am going to give it a go this weekend. The issue I had previously was in getting it to bend properly. I am going to use the dip method and should get a better shape.

As for the colors, I used Testors paint with airbrush thinner. The main part of the bucket is Cobalt blue, as are the shoulder bells. I will use the same for the knees and front of shin guards. The Night Owl symbol is done in Insignia Blue, as are the cheeks. It is too dark, in my opinion for the cheeks, so am going to mix up a custom blend of the two.

Thanks for the feedback and the weathering link!

Well it looks like it's coming along! I very interested in what this armor will look like on a more realisticaly proportioned body so I will be watching this!

I definitely have a more normally proportionate figure, even a bit on the curvier side. Even if I weighed 110 lbs it would be hard to look like the animation. I am comfortable I can make it work. I hope lol

Looks great! I'm waiting on the helmet for my daughter to start hers..I have most of the armor figured out..I should have it ready for SDCC and CVI..
