Rubies SW Scout Trooper Helmet

Dynamite Zeddy

New Hunter
Greetings all,

I'm new (obviously) and look for some help. I'm not exactlu sure where to post this question, but I think this is my best bet.

I'm interested in purchasing a Scout Trooper helmet. I looked on ebay after learning the official SW site no longer had them in their shop, and found one for around a hundred dollars. My question isn't if someone has a helmet they'd like to sell, rather if someone has the helmet and they can inform me how well it fits the average adults head? I know the descriptions read "fits most adult head sizes". Well, I'm 6'6" and weigh in the neighborhood of the mid-to-high 200's. I'm not obese by any means, but I am bigger than your average 22 year old.

That being said, I'm just wondering if someone can give me some insight on the sizing of the helmet. I'd rather not buy it if it's going to fit me well; I'd still love to have it as a collector's item, but a costume piece would be superb.

Any help you people can provide is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to your replies. Thanks a lot. (y)

p.s. also stay away from Star Fortress for anything. the most common thing I've seen from anyone looking for star wars costumes is first ebay then they find star fortress. I'm sure there are some TB's in here?

Zeddy -

I invite you to hit BikerScout.net. I'm on there as EBTrooper.
Anyway, about the Rubies... $100.00 is WAY too high for one. If you truely want a rubies, I know you can get one for a lot less money. Just hunt around.

As for the helmet itself.... I had one and after about a year and a half, I retired it in favor of a helmet made by MLC. Sure, it's going to cost you a bit more, but in the long run it'll be worth it! It's a fiberglass bucket and is probably one of the most accurate buckets out there. I would suggest either them or an KS bucket. Again, please check out BS.N for more information.

Thanks a lot, WannaBeBoba and xFettx.

WannaBe, I've joined up over at BS.n and after doing some research, seems an unmodded Rubies is a bad choice. I don't have the capabilites to Mod it myself, but I am more than willing to pay a bit more (or a lot more) for a high quality helmet that will surely last me longer and look all the better! My name over at BS.n is the same, maybe I can get you to help me out a bit more over there? :)
