212th Clone Trooper Build

Viper

Active Hunter
I am in the process of building a 212th Clone Trooper. (Cody's guys) I have a bunch of different parts from a bunch of different people. I am making the armor very very weathered. Not just black, but I'm also incorporating dirt. The reddish brown dirt of Utapau.

Here are the parts that are done:
Elbows
Hands
Knees
Shoulders
Helmet (except for mesh behind the teeth)

I have the chest and back painted and weathered with dirt, still need to go over and scrape the orange and add some black.

I'll add pics of my finalized stuff soon hopefully. Thanks

Here's what the helmet started out as:

I almost didn't want to paint over it. But oh well, I like it better now. ;-)

ahh, always loved the 212th, but went with white grunt. Might get back to it though as the paint (and it's color) look great ;)
Where are photos of done parts :p

Pics, as requested. Still need to do the black weathering on the chest and back. BTW, the walls on our room are Terra Cotta Red, thus, the orange on the armor appears more reddish orange than it actually is. ;-) Out in the sun, or white light, it looks better. But it's raining out, so..pics wouldn't work outside.

Oopps, forgot the helmet. Hold on.....

Here's the helmet. Still need the mesh behind the teeth and the side decals. I also noticed on my chest piece, one of the stripes is off a tad. Twill be adjusted. ;-)

Sweet looking build so far - I've always liked the 212th paintjob, too (I also like the Shocktrooper helmets like the one you painted over, but what's up with those red boots? :wacko ).

Looks good! I like both armor and helmet. Who made the armor btw? My guess is MG?
And how bout putting it on you and then photo :)
And one advice- remember that the Utapau dirt would accumulate especially on legs (at least that's what would make sense to me, unless they were crawling in dirt), so not that much is needed in upper parts. just my 0.02 ;) Still love it and look forward to next parts.

The armor is from a bunch of different people. I don't even know where some stuff is from. Helmet is a cast of an MR, some armor is r2lass, kw designs, dw designs, and yeah. haha a variety. Sisi. Actually, the suit is being made for my younger brother to wear. He's 5-11, and is pretty slim. Yeah I'm trying to make this guy look like he has been to hell and back. ;-) Tons of dirt, I guess he ran through a dust storm or 2. Yeah, the legs will be pretty dirty too. Thanks

Here's the finished helmet. Padded. Mesh added. Stripes added. (Fenixprops) BTW, he is in Argentina, and the multiple things I have ordered from him takes 3 days to get here. And he will often times accept offers. Good guy. Good stuff. ;-) And here's a pic of my blaster I forgot to include earlier (wood/resin/metal). Very nice. Thanks to Darman on ctn. Neckseal is from him too. Armor is getting close. I'll post pics soon, once it's all weathered and finalized.

Thanks!

Thanks man. All the armor (that I currently have ;-) Has been weathered with the dirt color. Now to do some black, and then seal it.

This project is going fast! :) Nice work so far :)

EDIT: Oh... you bought the e-bay CastersInc/R2Lass kit, don't you? Well... that kit has some inaccuracies. The elbows shouldn't have that 'folded' edge. They should be flat. I think you can rework them with a heat gun... but you could spoil the paintjob.

No I didn't get it off ebay. I bought a bunch of parts from diff vendors on ctn. Elbows. Have to think about that one.

Having done the MG/R2-Lass kit I have to agree with Ogait-Nas about the elbows. However it does not spoil the accuracy to the point that it wouldn't be approved... And to be honest making them flat would probably make them look worse. I like how yours are now ;) If you look for improving them- probably should get some OSCS or C6 elbows...

And did I say already that I like the helmet? :D And blaster looks good as well.
Keep the photos comming! :)

Here is where we are at.
What we need to do:
Finish painting and weathering.
Get the chest and back pieces all trimmed and figured out.
Line and pad everything.
Still waiting on the boots.
Just ordered the special paint for the belt.
Then get the belt all figured out.
Straps for the knees.
And really just get everything fitting nicely on him. ;-)
Not too far off! Yay/ Here are some pics of what we have.

Ok, I like the weathering you're using. :)
I think you'll solve this once you trim and fit the chest, but if not, let me give you some advice:
Give more length to the shoulder straps. That will place the chest piece in a lower position --> your neck will be visible :)

Me likes! :)
Yeah, back/chest definitely need some change. As Santiago suggested- they need to go down a bit. One thing that they just seem stange being so high and I can imagine it is not really comfortable, second that the AB top is visible as if it was too short, while it's only the chest being too high :)
Give us some photo from behind as well (if possible) :)
