Permission to come aboard?

Hello, I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of you on this site creating such a amazing place for people like us. I have been a fan for as long as I can remember and collecting for the same amount of time. I have constructed prop lightsabers before and made Jedi costumes but nothing has ever caught my intrest like this. I am in the RECCE stage of constructing my custom Mando and will appreciate any tips or tricks for the smaller things. Im not asking for $100 complete outfits or the quick and easy path, more like tips on painting and weathering that I will do myself, I tend to be very crafty..., what type of helmet to buy, and is it ok to step out of the box and do some things my way ( by that i mean making my own gauntlets that may not look 100% movie authentic, paint layout, and so on..) Anyhoo, again Thanks to all of you. Looking forward to researching more and getting my hands dirty. Any recomendations and comments would be more than welcome, take care...

Fettpride is real close to releasing a new helmet that is, well, just sexy. I'd wait on the helmet until that becomes available. Chris' prices are reasonable, and his quality is astounding.

Make sure you introduce yourself in the Mando forum. Those guys are a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. TDH (at least its been my experience, so far) is a community that truly is "enthusiasts helping enthusiasts". You will never find yourself with a shortage of good, readily available advice and direction.
