Well, I've been lurking on the forums for a few weeks and have recently started talking to folks, asking questions, buying stuff up, so I suppose I should say hello. ;-)
My name is Mark, although I go by Nyx on the net in almost everything I do. ;-) I'm a 25 year old electrical engineer who works on medical devices for infant diagnostics. I'm also trying to get into medical school. (Oye. Yes, I am suicidal.)
I've been a die hard star wars fan for the last 15 years (yeah I know, many of you have quite a bit of seniority on me.
) and although I've always had some irritation with the "Retcon" approach to Boba's story, I always have enjoyed the Fett's as cool, unique characters.
I found this site a few weeks before halloween when a friend said I should make a costume and I was considering doing a Boba or Jango Fett. After finding this site, I was overwhelmed and said "Okay. Sure. I'll make a costume. For NEXT year." I then settled on a Jango and have been putting pieces together since.
I have to say, this is a very impressive site and resource for new costumers like me. I've never done anything even remotely like this before and in truth have very little "craft" ability at all. So we'll see how this goes. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to continuing my little project.
Amusingly enough, my girlfriend became so fascinated in my little project that I am now designing a custom mando for her as well.. So this has turned into a pretty cool little BIG project. =)
