Hello from Sydney

Well as my username may suggest I'm an Aussie who came across pep in Dec last year. Really intrigued me and I have started a WOF Mandalorian helmet, first scratch build is underway and I'm kind of following Antmans 2nd build thread with some mild improvisation when things go horribly wrong. In truth finding it quite challenging. I have not done anything crafty in 20 years and this is while trying is also quite relaxing in a want to claw my eyes out kind of way.

Anywho hope to get some pointers from time to time when I'm stuck and participate where I can.

Welcome! Im a new member to the TDH aswell. I understand your frustration with pepakura work though. Definitely look into Rondo as a hardener for the inside of the helmet. It has helped a lot with all my pep work.

Rondo I think I have come across this one day too late. Spent yesterday getting high on resin and ended up with glass everywhere and a headache

Yeah... Definitely always wear a respirator and gloves when using anything with a strong odor. Usually what I do for my pepakura work is 1-2 coats of fibreglass resin on top, then a slush casting of rondo on the inside (I prefer rondo to fibreglass cloth, much easier to apply but heavier). File down any hard edges then bondo and sand.

Well 6 months on and I have started and stopped a few times. But the bucket is almost nowhere near finished..........

Started the key hole today, I'm going to end up with a helmet that's nothing like screen accurate. But for a first try it's not a terrible effort.
