Hello from the Bay Area of California!

New Hunter
Hey all -

I'm a lifelong SW fan - my mother was kind enough to have taken myself and my older brother Mike to all 3 of the original movies when they came out. You could say I was "Raised on Star Wars". I had darn near every single action figure, space-ship, etc. from the 70's through the early 80's. As an adult, that love never went away. From using Stormtrooper and Bounty Hunter images for my DJ persona/marketing materials (I go by DJ-138, a riff on a TK call sign), to my "mild" obsession with playing SWTOR and a lot of the older LucasArts video games, you could say I'm a bit of a SW junkie.

Of course, when it comes down to my favorite characters, the Bounty Hunters and various Stormstrooper classes have always been my favorite.

I have never been much of a costumer - but on the occasions that I have done any sort of costume creating, I have always done so more or less from scratch - and I have done custom "Barbarian" costumes, to various takes on The Devil. It's been YEARS since I have made a costume - and I decided that this year, I want to finally delve into the world of a Bounty Hunter costume build, and as accurate of one as I can manage to make.

All of that being said - I'm a total n00b when it comes to this level of detailed costuming, and reading through the various builds, techniques, etc. - I'm terrified. I feel like I'm drinking from the proverbial firehose.

I'm hoping to connect with some local Bay Area enthusiasts and builders to help me in my quest to build my own suit, and offer advice, guidance, and with any luck, friendship.

Thanks for reading thus far - I look forward to getting to know you folks!

Cheers,
Marco aka DJ-138

Wow nice to have another Bay Area Fett fan sweet! yeah Brother my older sister took us younger kids to see Star Wars at a local drive-In theater in 1977. We all climbed onto the roof of a van with a blanket and the theater car speaker. I'm sure food was probably falling right out of my mouth, my other Brother and Sisters thought the movie was just ok, but for me a "Dork" was born:) hehe

I did a Full Batman costume around 90-91 but then went into the military during gulf war1. I did a full Indiana Jones in the late 90s but I was hooked on this Boba Fett quest from the first day I found this site (thanks Art). I have a PP2 W.I.P But I'm shooting for a 2015 completion date. I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive and when I started collecting Boba Fett costume parts, ocd soon kicked in and I had to have as many found parts for my collection and build as possible. Some day I plan on building a custom Mandalorian named what else Syper.

Anyways, nice to have you Brother send a PM if ya need any assistance.
P.S. I'm in the Fremont Area.
