I like to start by saying that you guys have a wonderful site, I'm so bless to be part of it.

My name is Franchesky and have been building props for as long as I can remember.
I started a Jango Fett costume about 10 years ago but never got around to complete it.

I recently took it out but I figured that I'll start from scratch to improve and increase accuracy to the one used in the film.
Im lucky to have a CNC and other machine that should make the build "easier", but I'm looking forward to gain new knowledge and perhaps with the help of the members of this community finally complete this costume.

Welcome dude...

Since you mention scratch-builds, I have a couple ongoing ones which may be helpful as guides:

Le1120's Boba Fett RotJ gauntlets scratch build

Le1120's Second Cardboard Helmet Scratch Build -- WIP

That's sweet... Thanks for the links.

I'm hoping to make the gauntlets out of aluminum. I started building it last night so I should have a build thread soon.

If you know of anyone that has done that, please post a link.
Love to see their work.

I have never seen anyone do the gauntlets that way. I have seen some people who have done the helmet in metal, but not the gauntlets. The gauntlets are arguably the hardest part of the costume to make, so it may be tough, but it would also be totally amazing if you managed to pull it off. Good luck!

Yeah I agree.

That is my first focus of the build. I'm currently doing research to see if I can find blue print from the screen used ones.

I'm hoping to get the info I need to get the build stated this week and perhaps start a build thread.

The only blueprints available for free are made by Wizard of Flight. Currently his downloading page is down, but Rafalfett has made them available again to download if you look on page 9 post# 206. Most scratch builders (including myself, with modifications) have based their versions on this.

That's is cool stuff. Thank you for posting those links. I'll be sure to check them out.

I just pulled all of my old Jango items from several years back and I'll be remaking most of it. But the gauntlets are my main focus of the build.

Jango gauntlets are different, just FYI. You can try to modify ROTJ gaunts but to get it right there is going to be quite a bit of modification.

Just like with many items, at first glance they look similar but as you start to study and really look into it, they are very different. I would recommend going with actual Jango Fett items and not trying to modify Boba items.

Sounds good, I'm looking at the Jango exhibition pictures to get an idea. I wonder if the SW visual dictionary would have closer pictures. That's the only book Im missing.

I stand corrected. The fact that I have never done more than glance at Jango explains my ignorance I hope.

le1120............We are all here to learn.........so no problem

When you sit them side by side the differences are many. I just don't want some one to drop a wad of cash or spend time using the wrong blueprints. But that is what these threads are for, so people can learn and get directions from those who have gone before.
