Starting my first Mando today

and it looks like a starwars blaster ner vod. I think it'd do just fine that way. I like it with the grip too tho. Oh well... time to put the ad'ika to bed and get ready for some SpecOps Mission on the Military Channel! lol it's on in an hour!

the left, there's a lil slot there to insert the mag... just like the DC-17s should have... I like the placement of it, but since I'm lefty it'd be nicer if it was right side or bottom fed.

another thing Is there anything that can fill up the screw holes? I think theres some sort of puddy stuff but could anyone tell me what its called?

Thanks :D

ok sweet :D Thanks Kal

The plan for this weekend is......

Finish the bondo
and form my armor (I got the heat gun)

If there are any tutorials or tips you guys could give me on using the heat gun i would greatly appreciate it! :D

DO NOT pick it up on the hot end. That's all I got...:p

in all seriousness, dont do that. I did it and still have the scars to show for it...

And dont concentrate the heat all in one spot (unless you are working that spot for a reason). Evenly heat the entire plate to form it.

Good luck and post pics once your done!!!
:cheers

Looking good vod, sorry i've been mia. you know med school. =( takes most my time. okay bought that msh 1.5 from fettpride last night. still working on mine also. doing the cheeks right now. =)

hey lev'ika if u can find some decent leather work gloves (WalMart for like $12) they'll last u longer than just this project and save u A LOT of pain... I've been using my old work gloves (got a new pair for actual work) to shape armor since I started and they have saved me a lot of grief... but u have to use leather because anything else will transfer the heat right to your fingers or melt and fuse to your skin... which is probably worse than a minor burn.

Got plenty of those around :D being on a farm gloves tend to be laying in every direction

After i heat it up do i just shape it with my hands? I've never done this before and havnt seen pics of people doing it so i have no idea

put on a thick sweatshirt that u don't mind if it gets messed up, put the plate where it'd fit on u and hold the pieces to you to get the right shape... hold 'em there for a few min and then dunk it in COLD water while holding the shape to cool it rapidly, that helps maintain the shape better

heres the pics of my bucket after the final bondo
