EL wire?

Any body worked with EL (electroluminessance) wire? I'm thinking of incorporating it into my custom bucket for a bit of Republic Commando flavour. I know some of you here have worked on RC's (Goldenrod for one) and I have no idea what this stuff is or where to find it.Thanks!:confused

Ok thanks I'll do that. Still hoping for some imput from someone who has used it on their bucket though, so that I'll understand the benifits over LED's.
Vor'e burc'ya!

i was gonna say autozone or kragen auto groups. they ahve el cable.

LED's are way brighter and can be seen in the daytime depending on the brightness factor (see "ultrasabers"). EL cable can be put in had to install places. so i guess it depends on WHERE and WHAT you want the "light" to do.

I want to use it to edge around to visor area (which will be blue or mirrored, depending on whether I go for red or blue EL wire) for a Republic Commando style illuminated HUD effect. I know some RC's have gone this route on their Katarn-Class buckets.:cheers

Even thou its old tech for us saber folks TCSS still has EL wire and other stuff like inverters battery packs. Funny thing is theres so much more you can do with the stuff this place sells for things other than lightsabers which is really cool. you cna buy compleated blades(which last I knew worked with parks sabers you would have to email tim/strydur the owner to find out for sure).

He also sells 4khz inverters which are very good inverters, I even heard of a bunch of people upgrading ther eparks sabers to 4khz where as parks uses 2khz and el paper which is ****.

i dont know if youve found out yet or not but i was roaming the auto section at wal-mart and i found el-wire, its with the LEDs and other car lighting. good luck
