Saz Custom #2 Celtic band

Hey guys,

As ever, onward and forward.

There has been a bit of an interest in the Celtic idea I was messing around with whilst making the Krayt bucket, so I've decided that a Celtic design would be a great start for #2.

I am currently only bouncing ideas and everything is at sketch stage, I won't be building this until I have sorted out the Krayt buckets first, BUT, you get to help out with the design.

The first idea I had is a basic hoop lattice with celtic style Jager eyes, these will be etched into the helmet.

I have bought myself some etching bits for my Dremel, so it should be fairly easy to etch out any pattern, it's just a question of deciding which one.

I will post my ideas down here and questions and comments are more than welcome.

Looks great!! already planning the next one  Im going to have to get me one of these and the Krayt ones eventually before you stop selling them! Short on funds at the moment though :cry

Looks pretty dang cool for just a concept!! I could come up with more ideas for full suit with this design than the Krayt but the Krayt is so cool...
I would be up for this idea, might even switch over from Krayt (I said might so dont take me off the list just remember to bump me down) to this design.
Though what u can do with the celtic design is like unlimited u can put it anywhere. I say this to mean that don't make the front of the helmet look so nice and fancy, and then u have the back all plain like any other helmet. just a minor sudgestion.

SAZ!!! too soon!!! I need to recoup funds form the first bucket to pay for the Dragon lid, and now I have to get cash for THIS helmet!!! Your killing me mate!!! ;) I REALLY REALLY want to see this one built.

Seems reasonable since those hoops and loops are a prominent feature on any kind of celtic artwork ;) I like the "frame" you created around the visor. Im unsure when it comes to the eyes though.

Btw: heres a bunch of pics on this site that may or may not help.

Thanks for the link, that helps a lot, especially with the curved corner on the tusk. It's given me a few ideas.

We'll see about the jager eyes, I might end up doing an emblem of some sorts at the front. Perhaps a celtic mythosaur.

Mythotaur would look VERY interesting in Celtic knots. :D Try it!

And the jag eyes are cool, but dont quite match the stuff around the visor, just my opinion. But they're awesome nonetheless.

now that is excellent ;)
At first I was thinking youd move it to the left or the right and keep the slot as it is, but that should look pretty darn hawt.

Will you be adding something similar to the keyslot elsewhere? I mean, it is custom so you could go pretty crazy with this ....

I'm not going to go OTT with it, just have the banding in certain places as I don't want it to go too garish with detail, the other thing is I have to etch it out of one of my standard helmets, so I don't want to have to spend all my time covering myself with resin dust.

Wicked skull-knot design! I like it. :D

Just a thought but wouldn't it be cool if the design was on top of the helmet?

Yeah I have to agree with Ord'ika on this one, I thik the design woult be awesome on the top of the buy'ce. Just my opinion... which, my opinion and a dollar won't even buy a coke at most gas stations anymore so... lol

It's a great idea but I'm looking for something a little more subtle, i'm seeing people at a convention saying "hey a Fett" then getting closer and then saying "Hey a really cool Fett!"

Yes, I know, it's not a Fett, but I also know that your casual fan doesn't know the difference either.

Ok, while I've been waiting for the rubber to cure on the Krayt bucket, I made myself a template and have been doodling with it.

This is the one I like so far, 10 free internets for the person who recognises what creature I have put on the side. (for a clue, count the legs)

Apologies about the size.
