The progress of a New Mando

Herz

New Hunter
Figured I'd post my progress so far!

Throw in a small intro too.

I'm from a small town in Tennessee called Jamestown, Just recently got bit by the bug once again that I've not had since my teens to start a Mando project.

I'm 22, currently working as a Bail Bondsman. Around 6'1" and a lil over 220-230 so I'm hoping I can pull the look off and get the armor correct.

So, a quick picture of the color scheme I'll be going with thanks to MandoMaker.

I do plan to do some designs and stripes down the armor and heavy weathering to blend it together.

Still playing with color choices and suit ideas. Along with a few of my own bits to add to it.

First bit of progress was purchasing an HBF horrible helmet and modifying it, along with printing out a set of templates to use.

What I started with, never hurts to throw in the shocker.

Onto the first fun part! Disassembly with Dremel in hand.

Marking where to cut and sand in my jammies this morning

How it sits now taped together awaiting mandible/cheek extensions and more modifications needed.

I think the top of the T Visor needs to be closed together further to moreso match the correct/meaner look.

But I'll document my progress on here.

Looking forward to input!

I like the work on the helmet.
I picked up 4 of these at Walmart ($15 each) for grins (and spare parts for when I goof it up).
Looking forward to seeing your progress.

I am new here too. It looks like an ambitious undertaking. Although, I am curious. If you had planned to do such extensive modifications, then why not just start from scratch? I will post pics of the scratch build I recently finished based off of WoF's templates. Just not sure yet how to start a thread of my own. Anyway, I started with a hard hat and a five gallon bucket. I look forward to watching your progress. It is a lot of fun. Except maybe the sanding.
