My Mandalorian (Marcobinoculars!)

So I thought I'd start a progess thread here for my armor. I've only just got into costuming this year. (character, Mereel A'denla)

January, about a month of work. My first costume EVER.

February, I've tightened up a bit. Just after this I got a new Helmet. Bigger :D

June, I've upgraded quite a bit. new Gaunts, new Armor, Knees.

and now i've recently add a Marcobinocular to my helmet. (I think I'm the first to add it to a mando?)

I need to get some neck armor or something to cover up the open spot on my neck. I am also working on making small plates (sets of three) on my shins, over the half chap. and maybe a cod....

Sweet,

I need to follow your lead (get stuff finished then upgrade).

Very nice custom.

Looks really good--though a cod and covering up your neck are rather important, all things considered : ). Can you post a close-up of your wrist guard?

Wayi! Kandosii bucket ner vod! I love it! How'd you rig that sucker up? I'm now inspired, I'm now thinking of adding a half macrobinoc to my own bucket opposite side of the RF... kinda like a NOD (NVG)/Macrobinoc cross. Anyways... looks great! U thinkin' about adding a groin plate by any chance? That seems to me to be a very important piece of armor ner vod, lol.

Thanks for the comments guys, I've had a lot of fun with this.

And yes that is a Verp. I'm making a better one though, that ones was a little small, and I don't like the scope.

And yes, Cod and Neck armor are on my list of things to get. I tried scratchbuilding a cod, but it did turn our very well. and I'm kinda a cheapy, so I'm going to wait for the right one to come around for a recent price.

You mean guants right nomadbride? Yeah, I'll post some in a few. when I got them the weren't in the best shape, but I worked at them to get em presentable. They are Fiberglass scrachbuilds, make by the previous owner.

Kal'ika, I made the (what I'm calling) Macrofinder out of Sintra. then added a little fiberglass resin to the corners. I'll post a some progress pics in a few also. Got to go organize em.

Thanks man, Yeah, I can sit in the suit as it is now. :D

The only thing about getting boots, is that then i'de have to toss the Half chaps, which I kinda like. Should I try and get ones that match better? and add boot armor over it, to smooth out the transition ? I'm getting small shin plates to put on the half chaps.

I agree with A'den-- the half chaps do add something to the whole ensemble and look pretty cool to boot (no pun intended : )). I actually hadn't even noticed the shoes until bh pointed it out, but then I'm not always the most observant of people, either.

Oh, and yes-- I guess I did mean guants. Didn't know what to call them. Shows me up for the n00b that I definitely am, heh. The pics look great-- I like your additions to them. Thanks for posting!

The half chaps are part of your mando as much as the color scheme is... I would keep 'em if I were u. Also, the pics are very helpful! Thanks ner vod. As for your Verp... I like it... it's a good lookin' piece of kit and I'd probably stick with it if I were you, unless you're really just dead set on changing it, but if your going to ditch that one all together and not just upgrade it, I'd make the new Verp different enough to justify the time/money/effort to rebuild it. Just my opinion, and my opinion and a dollar might get u a coke...lol It looks good ner vod I like it.

Yeah, I'm going to keep that verp, but i'm making a same, but slightly bigger version. The only thing that i'll have to pay for, is the Scope I want to put on.

BTW... I want to ask permission to redraw your mando now that you have made some interesting changes.

Kal
Please do!! (y)
