Mando project

Hmm brown blue and green? Sounds good to me! That's a good color combination. And ditto to A'den: bit darker flight suit.

Thanks for everyones input. I just have issues with black and brown together, I dont know why. I usually go for black, but the dull brown interested me, so I went for it. Also the pic did look darker on the other computer, thats the main thing I didnt like about the pic when I posted it, so yes, darker for sure, plus the weathering will dirty it up too.

Man.....I am so undecided. I put my belt and girth on to take another pic since I finally built the arms. It almost looks good as is, but I still am feeling the green. I think I will do that, check it out, and move on from there.

What about this? Maybe a bit darker green, and dirty the whole thing up?

I want to dull and darken the leather ammo belt, as it has too much of a red tone to it. Does anyone have a suggestion? Airbrush? Thinned out paint wash?

I would actually say darken the green. And if you are trying to pull of the whole camo deal with your armor possibly add in some battle marks and dirt marks to show where you have been. Other then that looks great!

I think the green is too much of a difference to the white and grey and to be honest it is easier on the eye if you stuck to the white and grey look.

As for your leather, shoe polish, it's designed to stain and protect leather, so get yourself a dark brown and go for it :)

Shoe polish! That makes sense, thanks for the tip. As for the colors....I may never know.
Im still curious, has anyone ever dyed/stained/painted a white tt vest? My original ideas were to dye the vest, not the flight suit, but I was told the material wont hold the dye. Can I use a stain or paint? I still would like to know all of my options before I start

I agree Saz: green is a lil hard on the eyes, but it's not bad. It's just a lot of color. If it was dirtied up I think that would make a difference, tone it down a bit.

It can be so misleading. I agree on getting it dirty. We also have to consider the arms will be covered with gauntlets, and I plan to have some type of leg armor. With those in place it will cover a lot of the green, (or whatever color I go with) which will break it up. Armor pieces on legs will match the chest pieces. Gauntlets? Helmet?

I've been thinking about this and if you can make those colours more faded instead of bold, then I think you can use any combination. The problem I think is that the grey is a subtle colour and you are placing bold colours to contrast, if you can somehow give them a washed out look (increase the gamma on the coloured areas) That would look cool. :)

I see where you are coming from. Thanks. I just saw it dark in my mind. But it has changed so many times now. Any way I do it, I still want it pretty dirty, which I think will dull up any color.

Im still hoping for advice on dying the vest? Anyone? The main reason I am considering leaving it grayish is because I was told it wont hold a color? If I can color it, that opens many options that I originally had, as I am getting mixed signals on if this is possible...:confused

i know this is quite late but...... PINK GO! no but really, i like the green vest and blue jump suit. and my friend tried to die a jumpsuit once.. it hardly changed the color at all..
