least i got the helmet to protect me from the whip this time :p

I can put a few whip burn's on it for ya if you want

Good to see you back Vod, I've been gone for a few months myself... But at least you are making progress, I'm stuck lurking since my stuff is packed in storage :cry

I'm gonna follow this on too.

not made much progress over the past few weeks, kinda been bogged down with other costuming stuff that need maintenance. Trying to re spray and sand down braod swords takes a while ;)
but i have the helmet pride of place next to my bed to keep me ispired to do more on it. got the vinyl i need for the flack vest, and the buckles for the sides. also started pplanning the backpack.

hey guys. just thought id do a little updating.
not much progress to report, but would really appreciate some input. i'm kinda stuck with the rangefinder and would really like some ideas on how to proceed. any input would be great.
thanks

does anyone have any suggestions what i could make the rangefinder stalk out of? i really want to make it motorised, but finding the money to buy a pre made circuit is not likely, and have no idea how to make it, so will have to stick with a plain one. :\

any advice would be great. Vor'e

greetings vod an.
sorry its been a while since ive posted here, lots happening and the armour kinda got shelved. however in the past week, things have slipped into place, and i have finally managed to start on the plates. it is a little unusual, and not sure everyone will like it, but i have made a solid chest plate with the mando style plates as extra plating on top.
have also managed to start the rangefinder for my helmet.
Will put up the design i have later, but for now i hope you will enjoy these pictures.

Hey ordeyn. Thanks for the comment. Means a lot as I've been following your thread and you have some pretty awesome skills.
It is pretty solid. Fibreglass on inside and out to make certain. There will be a belly plate, but it won't be a solid plate. Going to make it in about four strips going horizontally across beneath the chest plate, a bit like mediaeval knight armour.
Ordered a cheap remote control car today that I plan to butcher to make the rangefinder motorized.
Will try and post the rough designs for the armour soon.

I drew this picture very quickly over an image i already had. it shows the basic idea for my armour.
it will have a big backpack with twin harpoon missiles, explosives strapped to the left shoulder and the clan logo design i have made on the right shoulder.
The ledt gauntlet will have the flame thrower/mini missile launcher thing, and the belly plate will be like lobster style armour.
the right arm, eventually will have a latex prostetic to look like a cybernetic arm, but a much cruder version than those given to jedi and such.
hopefully you will all like the idea. any comment will be welcome.

Kyr'am I think you have a very solid design... can't wait to see some progress! Love the chest piece that's awesome!

Much thanks Kal'ika.
Its taken me a while to get to this point, the armour always seems to take a back seat when things start to get busy, but gonna keep up with it this time.
Hopefully it will be a kit worthy of this site where everyone has such awesome armour!

was working in the shed today and after making the chest piece, i took a dremel to it and cut out two holes which i then filled back in to make a dent in the chest. it came out great and will try and get some pictures done soon.

well, it's belly plate-s :p gonna be about four of them in total like mediaeval armour, layered on top of the other. hopefully will give me more articulation :)
thanks for all the encouragement though.

Okay. so today i managed to steal a few hours and started with the filler to smooth out the plates. In the uk its P38 car body filler, not sure what you would call it in america or elsewhere. here is a picture for your consideration. i know its not much process, but im so happy with how its looking now.DSC_0438.JPGDSC_0437.JPG

Ok, so no picture updates as not done much work on it over the past few days, but it is coming along nicely. Managed to add more filler and shaped different plates. And also go a cheap remote control car so I can butcher the parts for the rangefinder. It already has the wireless bits, just need to extend a few cables and should be able to make a working rangefinder! Hope you guys aint getting bored of this thread

ok, so the right hand plate is nearly done, and then going to start on the left side. i know its not really that interesting, but i kinda want to keep up with it, and this seems to be a way to keep my optimism about it high. done a load more designing about the armour itself, so i know where i'm heading and whats the next step.
will keep you posted
