Kyr'am Galaar armour

im cheating a little with the leather straps. i have a packet of leather ferret harnesses, and also, if i need to, i will use leather dog collars. ive used them before on my mediaeval armour leg plates.

that's a pretty sweet idea for the bicep armor. i had a very similar idea that i made a while ago, i just haven't got around to painting it yet. looking really sweet though man

i have had a look around, and have decided on a slight redesign of my helmet (which is yet to be made, but thought id ask peoples opinion first)

here is a very rough design. any questions i will try to answer.

well its still going to rotate down like the normal RF, but it will curve, and along the top of the perspecs ill have led that shine into the edge of the perspecs, hopwfully illuminating it. (in theory!)

I've somehow missed this thread, and all I can say is wow! I realy like your designs, and to see the drawings of them, and then the actual peices....Thats preety darn cool if I do say so myself! Keep up the great work mate! :cheers

Vor'e Jodo. im working on the dome of the helmet at the moment, as i cant paint my chest plates untill i get them mounted, so that the lines will match up. im cheating and using an old cycle helmet as the dome section, and will either put thick card as the sides and cover it in fiberglass, or make the sides out of plastic sheets.

Here is what i have done today. ive taken the polystyrene padding out so it sits lower on my head (it was too high), built the fin with card, and covered it in filler to smooth out the ridges and gaps. it needs sanding, and probably another layer of filler before it is perfectly smooth, then fiberglass.

I like the helmet. The range finder is cool, but i don't know about having the whole stalk like the eye piece. Especially if you stick an LED in it. The rest looks pretty sweet though. Thats a good idea for the leather straps by the way.

hardly anything. there is only a small amount of filler to fill in the gaps, and smooth over the ridge where the card starts. once its sanded, ill cover it in fiberglass and it should be great
