Fem-mando first timer. WARNING Image heavy

that looks awesome! the only thing i'd have to say about it is that with as colorful and decorated the rest of the costume is, the boots seem kind of boring and draw attention to themselves. a little boot adornment, or some armor would really make it shine!

Dang, woman! That's crazy awesome!!! Excellent work and I agree with saint_nasty on the boots. But other than that: fantastic!

i've been following this thread for about 1 year now and it looks great. you got your plan right and stuck by it. the finished costume looks almost identical to the first drawing.

great work

I guess I will be the only dissenter from what is a great looking kit. There seems to be something wrong with the connection between your chest plates and your belly plate and I really can't place what it is.

However I also get the funny feeling it is a niggle for you too, so, apart from the fact it is great as is, it needs to be comfy and workable for you, so get that niggle sorted :)

Sorry I've been away so long, and I'm very late posting these, but here are some shots of my armor in action at Dragon*con.

Check out number nine! ;) I did end up adding something to the boots, just some spats made from leather, which I think i'll end up stiffening. And Saz, you're right about the vestl The magnets inside kept bunching and stretching the leather and wouldn't let the plates sit right. I'm currently upgrading to snaps and making an all new vest.

Wow! It is amazing to see a females take on this. Has a Middle Eastern/Indian look to it. I love your concept drawings (start to finish) Thanks for sharing your talents on this board!

Congratulations on an amazing build!

I especially love the slight pearlescent nature of the paint on your bucket, looks almost like an active camo suitable for felucia! hehe.

Thank you
Some changes have been made to the armor.
I have replaced the collar, the gauntlets, and the vest.
I did a photoshoot with the new pieces and the only pics that came out well were helmet off, sorry about that.
I'm thinking of moving the breast plates closer to each other and possibly adding some sort of back plate.
Any thoughts on that?

I also made another set of armor to look more like traditional mandalorian armor and less fancy pants.

That baby got me in the Mando Mercs, but any thoughts on how to punch it up would help.
thanks in advance!

I think adding a backplate like you mentioned would look good. Especially if you shifted the cape to just one shoulder so that it shows.

I'm sure it's already been noticed, but looks like the ab plate is really sticking out in the side-on pictures.

I was also wondering about the holster hanging so low? I'm sure that's what you intended, I'm guessing an homage to carrying a scimitar? Does look a bit odd though, and hard to reach.

Thanks very much.
Actually that plate has been giving me fits. I cannot get it to stay close to me for love or money. Should I adjust the vest or try more velcro? The holster is mostly supposed to be out of the way of the pockets, it is hanging low though so I shall move it up. Thank you very much again.

maybe a snap together button on the top center of the ab piece. mine does that and i'm probably going to use all snaps once i make a vest out of real leather.
