UPDATE TIME!!!! I'm soooo close to actually being done again and sending in my app pics to the Mercs. I've acquired some new tools to help me do a better job sharpening up my armor: a heat gun and a dremel. I love them both. The heat gun (obviously) helped me reshape some plates that needed it. The dremel is helping me make gaunts and sand the hard to get places on the DC-15s. I'm making gaunts from a custom design and out of PVC pipe -- I can't wait to finish them! I'm also going to make knee plates out of the PVC pipe. I added velcro here and there to make pieces stay in place better. I made an extension for my backplate. I did some work on my vest to hide the zipper and to improve the overall work (which I haven't finished yet). I just finished making a neck seal, too. The tutorial for the neck seal can be found here: Sahi's Neckseal - MercsWiki It was excellent and only took me like 45 minutes, but only cos I messed up. I'm still glueing things on my gun together and making a holster, etc... okay pictures.

The DC's have a few more spots to fill in and then they ought to be ready for resin (which I need to get because I must have had a blonde moment and glued my old can shut. :facepalm ) Anywho, enjoy!

Love the neck seal Ord'ika! That really makes the armour look crisp! And thanks for posting the link...I think I wanna try my hand at making one! :cheers :rolleyes

I've got my rivet gun and rivets. Summer is just around the corner and progress will be spitting out of me like sparks from a grinding wheel. I'll update some other things that I forgot to put up if I get the chance soon.

Well, I've been working for 4 years so even though it takes a while, kits can be finished!

Hey, updates! (yay summer)

Might have just a wee bit more shaping to do on the sides that come over the shoulder, as well as trimming to line up with the collar plate.

I love my cod plate.

Put on the snaps. I drilled the holes and put on the snaps. They are all holding very nicely.

I'm fixing a few more things on my vest before finally getting the back plate and bells on.

This is the other gaunt. The overlay piece (not the half circle one) is actually two pieces [if you couldn't tell]. I'm going to make them flush and then glue thinner support piece on the back. If it doesn't work, I'll just cut out a new piece from my pipe.

Photo dump! Seriously...

Ignore the lack of guants, knees, bells, and backplate. The bells and backplate need to be attached. I still need to cut out the knees and glue the guants. Despite that though I AM SO CLOOOOOOSEEEE!!!!

A Custom-Mando is NEVER done!
Always fixing and upgrading.

You can say the 'gam has "proved it's worth" when you finish a Troop without any damage. XD

Excellent suit build !...Ive got to look at a fem mando project for a friend ...(probably a couple before Im done!)...you seriously gave me some ideas that I hadnt thought about .

At the end of the day thats what this whole bag of squirrels is about !

Well done and congrats on getting cleared!

...now get out there and fetch in some bounties to recoup the cost of spray paint...and resin ..and bondo...
