Seller Feedback threads

We have had multiple requests for seller feedback threads and recently had a very energetic member create a thread. We have removed that thread and wanted to address the issue here so no one gets the wrong idea.

While we want to protect our members from bad sellers, we must remember that we operate under the kindness and grace of LFL and its licensees. At any point they could stop all selling of any kind on this site. With that in mind, we do not want to rub it in their faces and make it appear this site is solely about selling and buying of props. We are a site that helps its members build their own props and we do not want to do anything to upset a slumbering giant.

I got a very pleasant PM just recently from The Dent stating very similar things; I am glad this issue got resolved peacefully and in everyone's best interest; I probably should not have acted so hastily in creating the thread and talked to some people first :p I was merely responding to a bit of demand for this kind of system on the boards.
The last thing I ever wanted was for anyone to get in trouble for contributing their hard work to this site, so I want to apologize to anyone I may have put in an awkward position. Thank you to everyone who supported the idea, and thank you to everyone who was against it, for your consideration and understanding. I look forward to contributing to these amazing boards and this wonderful community of people in other, more constructive ways!

Just to ensure there is no misunderstanding, Nick did nothing out of line. In fact, we appreciate his enthusiasm and desire to contribute to the community in a way that would potentially benefit a number of people and hopefully create more confidence. Unfortunately, there are circumstances outside our control that make creating such a list less than desirable and potentially dangerous.

Nick, we appreciate your effort and desire to help!

I think a lot of the member take for granted all the great "propitry" that is available on these forums and that it is TECHNICALLY not legal. So as nice as it would be to have a good guys and bad guys list of sellers posted publicly, it would also put a bulls eye on us if and when LFL ever wanted to lay the Hammer of Thor down on.

Just make sure you do your research, ask lots of questions and if you still don't feel comfortable about the seller than pass, their will always be other options that come and go.
