Improved Search Functionality

Thanks to a suggestion at the RPF (loving that work done there is benefiting us here as well), we have requested MySQL server change from our hosting provider (because we are on a shared server and can't make the change directly) to allow us to search for words that are 3 letters long (like ESB, TIE, ANH) instead of the previous minimum of 4 letters which meant a lot of acronyms that we often use were left out. Our host graciously agreed and we have now completed reindexing the site and are happy to report that you can now search for these shorter terms.

Previously, if you searched for the phrase "ANH helmet" "ANH" was dropped from the search and up to 500 results for "helmet" were returned which is pretty broad and virtually useless.

Now, if you search for "ANH helmet" WITHOUT the quotes, you will get up to 500 results for any thread that has the terms "ANH" and "helmet" anywhere in the thread.

If you search for "ANH helmet" WITH quotes, you will get up to 500 results for any thread that has the exact phrase "ANH helmet" somewhere in the thread.

We hope this change makes searching a little easier for you and helps ensure your search results are more relevant.

The new search functionality is nice, though it took me a minute to figure out how to search just within a specific forum.
