JOKER HEXAGON FABRIC ORDER!! $26 a yd!!

While I maintain that I strongly still trust Kody, I must say, yes the evidence that there is foul play is piling up.

-Yes, businesses, at least GOOD ones, do not operate that way.
-He has become extremely scarce since recieving the payments.
-The pictures of the fabric are JUST blurry enough to be printed on computer paper. They are perfectly flat and straight. No photo of a delivery box or anything.

While I maintain that I do in fact trust him still, these are on our minds. If, God forbid, he is scamming us, I believe I am not the only one here who will drive to Michigan, find him, and take back more than my money.

Now, reasons to trust him.

-In early developments, he wanted to set up a donation to a member of another board. One could say he said it to get more money sent to him, but he also mentioned working on it with someone else. I believe those circumstances would make it impossible to hide. The person he said the donations were going to would most definitely let us know that they didn't recieve the exact amount donated.
-He has repeatedly said he will cover the end costs if people drop out and will give them refunds. The only people he will not refund are internationals after a certain date.
-He has many people backing him up on this board. I trust them.

I believe we should give it a few more days. After that, someone contact him and demand hard details. I believe in patience, however, he IS handling OUR money, and some of us don't have much to spare... Especially to a scammer. (Though as I said, I at this point in time, believe he is legit.

Sorry to be the one to say this so openly and critically, but this is beginning to look non-legit. I think we've all been very patient, especially with the vagueness and ambiguity of the "updates":
"I tried to contact this guy for 3 weeks to get this rolling, but he was always gone. Sorry guys!"
and
"I cannot say when because the postal service has been screwing me lately!!"
Frankly, I think this is a kid who's in over his head and we've all been duped - be it intentionally or otherwise. And even in the event I am wrong, the fact that he has gone this long without giving us any realistic timeline, well there doesnt seem to be much in the way of accountability on his part. I am having a difficult time believing that he couldnt get in contact with his"contact" for 3 weeks. Legitimate business just doesnt work that way.
' I just talked to the printer and I should have everyone's order soon! I cannot say when..."
BS.
My deadline has passed and my event already ruined. Just give me my money back, deadline be damned.

I apologize for breaking the no discussion stipulation.
Sir, your concerns are realistic and legitimate, and certainly no one can fault you for them, for I'm sure they are shared by others here. I myself cannot hide my own disappointment for the fact that I won't be able to make the shirt in time for Halloween. I've had a rough week at work, and the mutual fund that I invested my down payment for my first house is conveniently tanking now that it’s time that I actually need it, so I hate to seem rude, and I do hope you'll forgive me for in turn saying this so openly and critically, but if you want accountability, go to a clothing store.
This was not put on by a corporation, a costume store, a fabric company, a tailor, or some other sort of independent fashion professional. This is some "kid" (to use your own words) on a forum, some "kid" who, "got in over his head." And whose fault is that exactly? In my opinion, ours. Google joker shirt fabric, and see how many times this site will pop up in the top 10, or how many hops it takes to get to this site out of the 268,000 results (as of the time of typing). If this has grown out of his ability to control, it's certainly not his fault. He probably has everyone else in this order breathing down his neck, so your objection has been duly noted. From my understanding, this whole thing started as Kwally getting a few yards for himself and maybe some extra to sell on ebay to all the people whose need to have it by Halloween matched their bank account, so don’t forget that he's losing out too. The fact that he opened it up to people on this forum is a kindness on his part. The fact that this is allowed to continue is a kindness on the moderators’ part, this is a star wars forum. I admit, I joined to get in on the joker order (mods, please don’t ban me, this forum so totally rocks!) and I’m sure that there are a few others who did too, which probably doesn’t give the mods an abundance of warm fuzzies either, given the traffic this thread is probably causing. Just because you threw your money into a pot, doesn’t mean that you are entitled to the same customer service you’d get from something professionally run. Kwally is perfectly capable of defending himself, and I hate to do it for him, but we are AMATEURS, he is doing this in his OWN PERSONAL SPARE TIME, sometimes things happen like this, deal with it. We are entitled to exactly what we paid for; X number of yards of the shirt fabric, nothing more. Yes, this hasn’t been the smoothest run venture, but again, we’re buying something off a forum. I feel that if you get ANYTHING other than a package in the mail one clear afternoon, it’s a nicety on the part of the person organizing it.
If you’re the type of person who can afford to throw around $50-$100 for fabric (not including any incurred tailoring costs) on a shirt that you wear for one night of your entire life, you’re going to be ok if that falls through, which for the record I’m still not convinced is going to happen. Further, if you are contemplating attending an event, the ruination of which steams directly from you not having a screen accurate amount of joker shirt fabric, might I suggest not committing to that event unless you have the fabric in hand. Alternately, unless the event you mentioned was turning over the fabric to someone of low character holding a loved one’s life to ransom or exchanging said fabric to a similarly sinister individual for the antitode, you’re going to be ok. If that was the case, please accept my apology. We’ll all laugh about this one day, trust me, I’ll get you all a round of drinks. That’s all I have to say on the matter.

im not quite there yet, i mean he has been very vague in this whole process, seriously who really backs him (possibly people involved in the scam??)?? even a mod was demanding answers at one point from him. yes, the lack of updates is quite annoying, and the pictures looked very fake. i dont think he would set himself up for a beat down by so many people all at once. i do hope this is a legit operation. i would love to receive the fabric still and i hope soon, though at this point for halloween, the dream is over. whether it was kwally or the printer or both, there is something still not adding up to me. why was the test fabric that kwally got a small square and not at least a foot of material? or why was there three pictures taken all at extreme close range? why was kwally's lady taking pictures for him? the great thing is i paid through paypal and if anything goes south i will go through them for a full refund, i dont like his last update either. what does he will have everyones order soon but cant give an estimate on an ETA, and the post office screws him? i dont get that? but until my gut says its FUBAR im in YOU HEAR ME KWALLY!! IM STILL IN!! so dont forget to ship my fabric

I shouldnt be getting defensive but I joined this forum whem I saw this was in the works and then when they were scrambling to get this vectored and the proper order of the pattern itself figured out so it could repeat. I popped in and took that on on my own time. THIS WAS NOT EASY.
I knew no one here prior to this and certainly have no idea whats up - but were this a scam I seriously doubt he'd be contacting me for measurement details and double checking with me a lot for things as he has been... none of this has been a simple task.

And yes... you say that professional businesses dont work that way and you'd be wrong. As a business orders are first come first served. At this time of year there is a back log. There are many theatre companies, and new fall textile lines.
And as much as you like to hope a legit business is on top of it I can honestly say that businesses are just made of human beings as well. They CAN be inefficient... trust me.

Also... on the pictures being paper print.
A swatch is a SWATCH they dont ship you a yard of the fabric... they ship you a picture of the pattern that will be repeated for confirmation reasons. This is on a swatch of the final fabric and usually sent in an envelope.
IN addition there are several places in those photos where is OBVIOUS that it is fabric, if you are familliar with how fabric lays.

he has been very unprofessional and disorganized but it might be because he's new at this.

real or not, he's got till the end of the week, and then i'm getting a refund on paypal and finding my own source for fabric.

a tad defensive, when your name wasnt even mentioned

Look, How did I start my last post? That I shouldnt be getting defensive.

I wanted to set my role in all this straight before your unnessecary words caused people to start attaching me to things I wasnt attached too. Your last post was very offensive and even without mentioning names implicated anyone involved. The only people who anyone on this forum KNOWS was involvedin making this happen were Kwally Pinder and myself.
I get defensive when I'm accused for wrong doing, however vaguely, For something that I'm waiting on just as anxiously as everyone else. As well as something that I put hours and hours of mind numbing time in to.

It sounds to me that the business Kwally decided to go with for price reasons and delivery time wasnt proffessional. I think being as this was a spare time project he's been handling it well. But his communication needs to be better and more clear - thats the only thing. However that said people flip out if he hasnt said anything for just two days.

Stand firm guys and gals. Have a little faith. This project has been going on too long and too much work has been done for it to fall apart now. I am just as dissapointed as anyone that my shirt for Halloween has to be a crumby back up. All the time and care taken before any money was requested leads me to believe there is no sort of scam here. Sometimes things just get messy. That is life. If I am wrong, I will be right there with all of you asking for justice. Until then, we should just try to remember just how huge and chaotic this project really is. If it were in my hands, I do not think I could have done it any better...

Originally I didn't think of putting my two cents in too, since there is already enough discussion. But at this point I think I just lay down my own point of view.
The thing is, some people appear a little offensive to me. Kwally did this hole thing just out of kindness as already being said. Business works, as also already being said, on a first come first serve base. At this time of the year things can easily get very chaotic and get out of ones hands.
Now, Kwally has never done this before. Logistically, such a huge project is definately not a piece of cake and easily becomes a nightmare. Also, Kwally has to deal with some health issues. If I was him, my health would come first and the fabric order and things like that would definately be secondary.
I think it's not appropriate to get that offensive now. I think there is enough evidence that this is not a scam and that the hole trouble is just due to human failure (and I don't think it's Kwallys fault).
Everyone who wanted a refund could get it. But to suspect people of scamming in this thread at this point is definately not going to bring us any closer to the fabric. I think the lack of updates is due to Kwallys real life with the health issues and everything. Now, since it's too late to get the shirt ready for halloween anyway, people could be a little more patient because anything else will not be helpful now.
Just my two cents.

Well, if I were going to scam you guys, I think the number one thing would be....I'd leave after I got your money. Looks like Kwally is still giving updates. Soooo....For now I can honestly say I trust him. I know how big orders go, I know how difficult big buisnesses can be. So for evryone saying that buisnesses don't work in these ways, they work in these ways....I beleive your wrong. Buisnesses should work the ways you want....Most don't.

For the projets I've worked on, I've seen 3 weeks go by and "nothing happen". Just because someone isn't posting pics. of a product in your time frame, dosen't meen they're crooked. Because nothing on the supplier end is happening, its impossible to make an update. Because there simply isn't one to post. I think we should have faith in Kwally to bring a product of the highest quality to us untill evidence shows that he's crooked. I don't beleive he is.

I like this place, it seems to be mostly people who signed up JUST for the fabric that have issues. While I did the same thing... I have a starwars fan history in more than one regard and am a costumer in general. There is a wealth of knowledge here, and it seems like very good people so you can bet I'll be sticking around.

Kwally is legit. I am an international orderer and I pulled out and I got a full refund. If he was a scammer then he would not have paid me back...
ps. sereiana is a fox

You know... that is the first good post I have seen come from this entire debacle. While I understand the fandom for the Joker is quite rabid, I have never quite figured out how TDH became Joker HQ and while I understand people wanting to get the best product, I am a bit surprised by how many signed up at this board, just to get this fabric. I am not surprised to see those same people complaining now that things have turned a bit south... they have nothing invested here and many seem to have little interest in anything but taking from this community without actually being a part of it. While I certainly wouldn't want anyone to get taken or done wrong, I feel like a lot of those newcomers are tasting a bit of the harsh reality of jumping into something without having a more thorough understanding of the dynamics of this board and its membership.

sereiana, I am glad that there is even a possibility that you might stick around and take advantage of some of the other, more established information this site has to offer. Maybe others will to.

I agree with that, I don't see TDH as a Joker HQ though, there's two threads for TDK discussion, and two farbic threads....I can spot a hanfull of non-SW costume threads on the first page of general discussion forum. Its Halloween, so I'm guessing evryone wants to show off their hard work on a site that can appreciate the details of a costume. I don't see anyone jumping up and down because of those off-topic threads.....(But on the other hand, the fabric order drew all these newcomers in)

Art deffintly has a point, the people who are in a panic are the people who have no idea what TDH is and are here just for the fabric. Highly odd in my opinion.

I'm Glad someone said it... bout time...
I'm normally of the one supporting the little guy....but I don't see why TDH has to be the HQ for the Joker Fabric run???..... Isn't this a Star Wars based Website???:confused....

showing off your work is one thing, but doing any type of run on this board that is "non" BountyHunter or Star Wars related is something I don't want to see on this board..... that's my personal feeling about this.
To me, there are other boards well suited for this...not TheDentedHelmet. :rolleyes

And yes, this post may be in bad taste, I apologize... but I think there are allot of members here that feel the same way.

I have been lurking on this site for about 2 years i finally joined for the joker run because the RPF is a pain in the rear for getting signed up.
I've been helping a friend build a ESB Boba and my wife is wanting Zam cosutem :zam. I still lurk on the RPF because i allways miss the registration. :(

I agree with you. A site like the RPF should have been the place where this was tracked. In fact, Indy Magnoli, who has experience in handling fabric orders, had his fabric printed (from the same pattern) and ready to deliver back in early September, as well as offering finished shirts. Unfortunately, it's practically impossible for new people to register on the RPF.

The new user policies at TDH after Halloween will hopefully change things for the better regarding off-topic societies sprouting up out of nowhere.

again, i never mentioned your name, are you feeling guilty? you dropped the dime on yourself. im not here to pin blame or implicate any person or people in scams. all i said were there are a few things that really dont add up. i dont like the way this whole thing has unfolded and it hasnt been a good experience, the one thing that should have and needs to change is the communication between kwally and us. updates no matter how small or even if there is nothing to broadcast to everyone, at least it shows us that he is still here and not just dropping by to keep everyone at bay. he has had poor communication with us since (it seems) since he started taking money orders, and playing with my money,is like playing with my emotions. i think all ive ever asked for was communication, i never received any confirmation that he ever received my payment, it wasnt until the masses came togther and started screaming did we get a confirmed list. i would like an update just so i know everything is rolling, like i said no matter how small, even if he posts something like" just checking in , no word yet" or "i have the fabric, i'll be sending it out within this time frame and then with every order shipped everyone will receive a PM with a tracking number" or something. yes, the three of you have been working closely together which might give the wrong impression to some, but i never implied any wrong doing, you dont have my money and im not too worried about it thats what paypal is for:cheers
