Costuming newbie

I am new here, and also new to the world of costuming. I am asking y'all for advice.

I would love to do a custom Fett costume. I don't have anything but the method of how I am going to make the armor down. And that is paper mache. I'm not for sure if it will work but it is possible.

Advice please.
