Helmet Helmet help!

New Hunter
Hello! I am new to TDH and Zam costumes! I have done my research but can't seem to find any templates for her helmet that are cheap. Anyone have any ideas? thanks!

I feel your pain! I just started making a plan too, and I have searched all over the forum and read through all the sticky posts to find more information, but most of the links are so old they don't work anymore. I'm trying to figure out a pattern for the jumpsuit because it looks like it's hard to find the right material for that, so I wanted to try and order it before working on the other things. As for the helmets, this website is the only thing I found, but I still can't tell if it's an actual helmet or just a template?

Clone Wars came out so long ago, I wonder if people are even still active on here or if Zam is an older costume now. Have you started any other parts? I'm dying to get started but I'm still so lost!

Thanks! I downloaded the armor template. I'm having trouble downloading the helmet one because it keeps saying my flash is out of date. I keep trying to install the update but it still keeps telling me it's not updated...so I'll have my husband try to figure that out later haha. For now I can play with the chest template.

The helmet is probably going to be the toughest thing to secure - I started with what I thought would be the toughest to finish, the skirt, and now I'm anxious to move on. We have two kids birthdays within 10 days of each other, once those are done, I can get back to my Zam! I'm using a white scuba knit neoprene that I found on Amazon, and dyeing it using the newer Rit Synthetic dyes (combo of royal purple and orange). I'm hoping to do that this Sunday, and will be updating my thread with those results. I did a test run of sewing this fabric on the pants, and I was very pleased with how they turned out. JDFett is still doing runs of the greeblies when he gets enough on the list. Be sure to reach out to local garrison members - you never know how they will be able to help. I found a local who bought second-hand a Zam build (not put together, just boxes of pieces), and she is sharing what she happened to have duplicates of, and it's giving me hands-on with the other pieces to help find them. Good luck!

Not the easiest build to recreate. You're doing well despite the dwindling resources available. I am not yet completed with my own build, but I can tell you I got a pepakura file online for the helmet. I've never been pleased with the end result I had with the earcovers, but that's just my issue.

Best of luck to all you Zammers :)

I'm really interested to see how that turns out! I don't sew well, so I was going to hire my sister-in-law to help me sew up the jumpsuit, but I haven't gotten any further than looking for purple neoprene. I also have the helmet template now, so I'll be giving that a try. (Or two or three..haha)

Glad you found a template! Where did you get it from? Good luck on the sewing!

My wife wants to do Zam. I am working on some of the research for her. Let me know as you find anything and I will do the same

Thanks. I looked at her site and it looks like she got most of the parts from moncal, but most blogs say that he is taking well over 1 year to get the parts done if ever.
