Were can I get a top notch Jumpsuit?

Foxbatkllr I had no idea it was down in LA at the show. I'm only 2 hours north of there. I'm there, maybe even tomorrow if I can help it. Had no idea! And what is it I need to do a color analysis? A pan what?

Holy sh*t! Really? Where can we get info about this, Foxbat? I'm just a hop south of LA in Long Beach!

Cruzer... I found my receipts. The place is called "M&L Fabrics," and the one I went to is on Ball and Knott in Anaheim. It's a retail place, similar to Joann or Hancock, but with an emphasis on fabrics. Hope that's helpful.

Foxbat... info please! :)

Oh year, Joren thanks for the info about the shop-appreciate it. I'll check out the shop after I check out the show. Be awesome to see the actual costume in person.

Crap, doesn't open till the 19th. But I just got a MR blog that said the LA Fan Force allready has pics posted on the MR blog forums. What's up? I thought it was supposed to open on the 12th?

Foxbat... any confirmation that Jango will be included in this display? It seems the exhibit is centered around Trisha Biggar's work, which (as I understand) doesn't include Jango. Just wondering if you've heard anything specific. Thanks!

Joren go to the Master Replicas home page and click the MR blog link at the bottom and then view the LA Fanforce photos. That should answer your question. 3 for one deal if you count Zam!

Jango's there, along with ROTJ Boba and Zam, but don't expect to get a good color match unless they change the lighting. :/

For the record, the exhibit opened briefly for press and friends and family of the employees, etc, (Which was this past weekend.) Some of the costumes are going to be shipped to NY for a show, but will be back for the official opening. That's the reason FIDM delayed things.

So far I have seen that people go one of three ways...

Navy
Lt Blue
Grey

The color looks more like a Steel Blue to me, but I have yet to find anything close. I went with a light blue (Postman Blue) until I find the color I looking for.

I hope this helps. :)

1978seymour, tk-938 is right, for a jumpsuit you can go a few ways:
  • with a pair of Red Kapp postman blue in color coveralls and workshirt(double sleeve detail) which is the closest you'll find in already made coveralls to the original jumpsuit color
  • or you can go with a pair of Dickies navy in color coveralls and workshirt(again double sleeve detail) which is darker in color than the original jumpsuit but still is usable
  • or you or someone you know can make a jumpsuit out of fabric you've found that you think looks similar in color to the original jumpsuit using a Black Butte Jumpsuit pattern from The Green Pepper patterns.
  • or you can buy a jumpsuit from somebody here on the boards who makes one for Jango.
Personnally, I've used a pair of altered Dickies coveralls until I recently ordered some Red Kapp coveralls and a workshirt. But after thinking about how much I would need to alter them and after finding some killer dead-close(in my opinion) fabric in downtown L.A., I decided to sew my own jumpsuit using the Green Pepper pattern. Keep in mind though if you don't know anyone who can sew for you, you've then got to tack on a seemstress/tailor's bill for the cost of making a jumpsuit from scratch.

Hope this helps, Cruzer

It's closer to a purple/periwinkle...and you can always dye your jumpsuit. just add some purple.

I know that this is a Jango thread but I'm soooooooo glad that I saw this. I had a jumpsuit from a school project this last year and it's dark green. I've been hoping to find a way to use it for my ROTJ Boba. Now I can just remove the color.

To all you of you looking for a jumpsuit: My mom actually went to some antique/garage sales and found that suit for a school project! It has perfect pockets and such! Just look around and some of you might be lucky. She got it for 3 dollars and its in great condition!
