Hm... if the rest of it turns out as well as the helmet did, you might be able to get into the 501st with it. Be closer to a custom than anyone else in there (except Ray, if he goes for it. =])

that is bad *** nah the 501st wont let comic book characters in i tried to join with a kir kanos costume and they rejected me they want people that the average joe will recognize. but they are debating letting custom mandos and clones join. who knows when that will happen

Clones are accectable in the 501st.

And from what I understand:
The Legion has the rule of three - meaning there has to be three sources of that character before it even consider to be approved. For example it should be in a comic, shown as an action figure and on a video game.

Make sense? Don't quote me on that. The best bet is to always ask the Legion Membership Officer (LMO), Thomas Spanos (who by the way only has EU Characters).

Thomas' 501st profile:

Thank you for the nice words everyone.

As far as getting it 501st approved I am going to try. I have talked to Thomas a few times about it, and have gotten some favoriable comments. So when I get it done I will have to hit him up again and see what can be done. Hopefully I wont have to make any major changes.

If the 501st did let EU characters "in" their might be a problem at public charity events of the uninformed going a round wondering "ok now which movie are you from" and the 'Tumer having to constently repaeting themselves....just a thought
I personally think it would open the options of picking a character in joining a organzation that does good deeds but that is a rant for another thread

Awesome helmet!
Did you build the bucket from scratch or buy one? If you bought one- who from?
That's a great lookin' bucket though.

And as for the 501st, I'm pretty sure they don't except Mandalorians outside the Fetts. I wrote a post in the forums and got a lot of answers. There is a possibility that if you join as a Stormtrooper (or whatever) you can go in a different costume (like a Mandalorian) to an event as long as it's OK with the event organizer or or garrison commander. I think.

It is a BKBT bucket, and I have to say it is one of the easiest buckets I have ever had to work on, it had the least work for me to do. There is almost zero bondo in it and no seem marks at all to sand off or cover. Basically very very little clean up to do when I got it. I think I only had to put a few small dabs of bondo on the dome to smooth out a couple very small dimples, and then cut the key slots and visor out. That was about it.

As for the 501st I have been a member for a few years now so I am not worried about getting this Jango version in. I am going to try how ever. And the 501st does let EU costumes in. They just have to be well documented and be profetionaly done just like a regular Star Wars costume. Examples would be Durge, Prince Xixor, Darth Reven, Arc Troopers, Black hole Troopers, Magma Troopers, Mara Jade...and the list goes on and on. So it is possible.

well they rejected my kir kanos costume.

Sorry to hear that man. Did you inquire as to why? What the exact reason was? Was it something you could change on the costume to get in or was there not enough referance material at the time avalible? Never hurts to ask and poke around a bit till you get some answers. Good luck on it.

Love the helmet, it looks great and the idea of doing a different version of Jango is very cool.

It would be great if the 501st would accept Customs and more EU characters/versions. I've been a member for a few years now, and I think it could attract more people to the 501st. Especially since the future of SW will be heavliy carried out by the EU. I really don't see why it would be a problem as long as you had at least 1 costume that was considered movie canon. Since most events are not canon events you could probably troop in your custom or EU version pretty often. But that's just my opinion.
