Official Thread - Jango\'s Boots

A board member here did a replica Jango boot run which looked exactly like the Pit Crews. They were a fairly big ticket item & there wasn't enough of a demand to justify a second run.

The last pair look pretty good for a stand-in. Once dyed black & with the laces covered with armor, they will be close enough for the average Joe!

I knew of a lot of womens shoes that have a VERY similar sole, but some were on sandals and such..but I figured if there was anyway to remove it and attach another shoe to the top.

But I guess the real question is...can...and this is a BIG WHAT IF type...would one be able to either cast or sculpt the sole, and then make rubber copies? Then if we had the boot bottoms, and then being able to attach a shoe atop of that?

Maybe it's time another thread was created to see if there is enough intrest to another replica run.

I bet some people need a seond pair by now.

Well seeing as how the last run took about a year to complete, I think it is better to source other alternatives. The original maker also was left holding several pairs, tying up his money, so I don't know if he would be too eager to step up again. You never know though.

If anyone is looking for size 11, contact Reinone. He has a couple of pairs of the awesome repro boots he did last year. These are as good as they get.(y)

2 weeks ago I find a pair of boots that I bought 6 years ago...

Where did you come across womens' shoes that look close? I've been looking everywhere for weeks now, even in the boys' sections and have found nothing.

they currently have some womens boots on ebay. search under "kenneth cole reaction boots" it should come up with a pair for the ladies. there brown, but, you can always dye them. ;)

Prada also makes many shoes that have similar soles...but ya gotta be willing to pay for Prada like prices. Check ebay.

how is that supposed to help him? you linked him to yet another thread all about discontinued shoes that ends in "check ebay".
That should be a disclaimer for anyone before scrolling through the pages of out of date material around here  I know I've been in every nook and cranny of this Jango forum over the last 4 or has it been 5 months? it's been so looong since I've seen daylight...:D all I can see is shades of bluish purple, shades of greyish black, shades of blue, and I catch myself looking at everyones shoe soles! This costume is a mental disease..

hey, got a question i've always wondered....why are 99.9% of these boots discontinued? i see that the Co. probably doesn't know about the demand for these boots, but, you'd think that if they saw all these were going fairly quickly they would bring them back...but, i'm just glad i was able to snag a pair of Reinone's boots....which i'd love to thank him for all the hard work, and effort put into that project....i'd also like to thank my mom and dad......just kidding...

 sorry bud, didnt mean for you to take that so seriously  I can only throw in so many laughing smilies. I'll toss in a couple more for ya next time to be sure

I know the uppers are all wrong but the soles look pretty close. The uppers can be dyed black and the boot armor covers the rest.
They are called "Nike Air coast Hiker" at the JCPennys site.
