New Jango WIP

Hey guys- Well lastnight I spent some nerd time over at Fett7's house and was able to get some things done. After repairing the bottom left jaw (it had popped loose during shipping), adjusting the t-visor, and installing the helmet skirt..the bucket is preliminarily complete : )...I know its difficult to notice in the photos but, I added some bark-brown, copper and diluted black acrylic to the weathering in order to give it a more Arena apperance. Below are some pics! It looks like I may be working on a stubby next guys, along w/ modding my sons hasbro BF w/ an ROTJ paintup!

B - Looks GREAT!!! I guess I should go ahead and pay Chucko the ransom on my helmet; lol!! I'm looking forward to a potentially exciting week: CC Back & Shins should be arriving from Cruzer, as well as a set of his CC Gaunts originally made for DisneyWorld, FL Star Wars Days....WOOHOO!

How is the padding on the top of your helmet? It looks similar to mine, and mine almost pushes my helmet UP too high. I'm seriously comtemplating a helmet liner from Evolution. The additional weathering looks great. Might be a tad-bit heavy on the R side, but looks awesome!

I need to make it out there again and "Geek Out" sometime with you guys.

Hey Obro...thanks man! Ya, for sure...this time the nerd session can be longer : )..Fett seven and I are going to be working on the stubby pretty soon here. The padding feels great..I used some different thickness on the top than the sides. Ill let you check it out, it fits nice and snugg which is what I prefer. Ill be expecting some pics in your thread soon!

WOW has it really been 8 months ...anyhow, Ive been fairly motivated as of late and been setting myself up w/ some work, attempting to finish this Jango, and well..a nice slow BF build:D. After Obrother hooked me up w/ a very nice practice vest I decided to go velcro (industrial strength) in order to place it. Once I have the go ahead from you all, I will move forward w/ the snaps. I feel like the placing is pretty darn close..any thoughts?
Thanks
B

your plates look really good, well spaced and sized for your body. maybe move the ab plate up about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch, but overall i approve this chest armor.

Spacing looks good. I always used my girth belt to make sure all the pieces worked well together. I recommend using snaps. Glue the female portion to the back of the armor. Put rub-n-buff on them, when you place them on the vest you'll have little circles to punch your holes. Wear the vest when you place the panels.

i rub chalk on the male side after they're glued onto the plates. does the same thing that 5204 said

Hey Jango and nasty- Thanks for all of your great insite..thats a great idea! Will do.
belugas- You can pick them up at any lowes..theyre little gold washers. I think I measured the front of the blaster before I went. Let me know if you have trouble and ill search around for the size.

I'm curious what material you used to attach the female side of the snap to the chest/ab/collar armor? Next month when I get my chest armor and flight jacket, I will be in the same boat :) It looks good to me!

Ribann - I used Hot Glue. That way, if/when I switched out vests, the snaps were easier removed and replaced to accommodate new snap placement on the vest. However, with the rub-n-buff or chalk method, I guess that wouldn't be necessary. Nevermind. LOL!

This Dynamic guy is a HACK! LOL!! Dude, it looks awesome. When you get a leather/letherlike vest, you're gonna have this thing down-pat. Plus, your current vest would make a great Mando for your wife, or you can pay-it-forward and it can become the unofficial TDH Practice Jango Vest. Great Progress!! I'll have a Practice Girth for you when we meet up for EPI 3D.

Hey guys-
Ribann- I used hot glue..I roughed up the snap end and the spot where I was placing it w/ some sand paper..then as the guys suggested, used chalk (press hard), then placed armor. On e I got going it went pretty smooth.
Nasty- Ill check it out..im already laughing
Jason- LMAO! I was sweating when I text you

Alright nasty- LMFAO!!! Thats an idea for your next comedy video LMAO!!! Whats even funnier, if you guys are MMA fans, the huge guy is Alistair Overeem. Oh man, that is great!
