My OS#3 Jango helmet and jp

Well that paint job didn't last long!

I took what was my EPII Jango BKBT helmet and converted it to an Open Season #3 Jango helmet for San Diego ComicCon. I know there's going to be a few really nice EPII Jango's there (like SEEKER, Zxwing, and probably some others)...so I decided to do something different. Let me know what you think.

I also threw in a pic of my MLC2 I painted up to go with it...my wife said it looked like a "bad azz" and she doesn't even care for my costuming hobby! :confused :)

Oh, and the kid bucket was going to be my son's until we discovered it was too small for his big noggin. So it may go up for sale soon to help cover the costs of another bucket for him...hopefully we can get something else in time for ComicCon.

Enjoy,
Cruzer

Look forward to seeing it at Comic con, I hope you find a replacement for you son before then. Sadly my Jango won't be ready, but it gives me more time to loose weight.

Thanks guys, I'm glad it meets your approvals.

For my son's dome, mandible, and back area I used Silver Leaf R&B; however, for mine I used Treasure Gold's Pewter. So there's a slight difference in metallized finishes that the pics may not capture as well as in person.

For the jp, well, lets just say I just threw on all kinds of "crap" on there...whatever I could get my hands on.

Thanks,
Lorenzo

WOW! That looks great, that color scheme really sings to me! Reminds me of the Northrop F-20 paint job.

Wish I still lived in SoCal, lived there 14 years and never went to the SDCC. What was I thinking!?! Hopefully someone will post pics so that the rest of us can live vicariously through you folks.

Enjoy

Alan

Does that mean your done with your Jango suit? I think you sold the stubby, and now repainted the helmet? Now you'll need to but 2 of everything.

Thanks again guys. It's funny cuz the painting and weathering process is just like an EP2 Jango just different colors and metal polish:lol: ...oh and then there was the border thing with the visor area. I noticed it didn't go all the way around. Plus I painted the rf red when in the comics it's grey...wanted it to stand out a little more.

out of curiosity which page did you pull your reference from? cause I went with more of a blue/silver tone :)

of course now I am reconsidering what I've done :(

Thanks guys.

Kivas, I wanted to go with a metallized polish instead of paint because basically paint looks well...like paint, and I like the finish that R&B gives. So I was limited in what was available, allthough I think there are bluish tints of R&B available. A custom mix of some silver leaf and some blue might work well. But I tried this pewter over silver leaf R&B and was happy with it. There's one pic in the comic where his armor strongly seems to have a brownish silver hint to it and that's the one I was shooting for because I liked that color. But you're are very correct most of the pics show a bluish silver tone to his armor.

Personally I like how the pewter like tone compliments the greys and reds in the costume. So it's kinda like my own "personal" interpretation, but by no means the final say-so. I say do what makes you happy. I do like my choice of red though. It's called Electric Current Red made by Dupli-Color in a spray can found at auto part stores. I searched hi and low for something in a spay can and that's the best I could find.

Hope that helps,
Cruzer

Ya the metalized look is preferable which is why I added silver and aluminum to the blue..not quite the effect I wanted but hey it's ver 1. I've also interpreted the damage as well.

Yeah bro, I just do what makes me happy and go from there.

I've seen your helmet and it's sweet!! Plus the weathering/paint you put on your knees rocks! You can't go wrong with what you're doing.

Mine, I think of as more of a custom variation of that OS version.
