My Jango Progress

thanks Cruzer for the link. I still havent gotten the chicago screws yet, but i plan to. All i have left to do is pick up the backplate and shins which i also hope to get from Cruzer. Aside from that no progress on the Jango. Money is tight and I am trying to get my brothers custom mandos done before xmas. Its so hard to have an almost finished jango laying around and not be able to troop in it! ARRG!@*%#&(

Very understandable in today's economy. Just an f.y.i., I use the 1/4" screw posts for the top and a 3/8" or 1/2" for the one going through the d-ring holder. Anytime you're ready for a backplate, just let me know, and I started preping for all of the new molds I need to make (including the shins) this past weekend.(y)

looking good man.

what are you missing?

All i need are gloves, shins, backplate and attaching the chicago screws into the holsters and thighs.

Looking great my friend! I'm waiting for pics from Halloween. Were you able to suit up and troop a little?

actually no. I'm far too terrified to take this into the streets of manhattan with all the drunks and crazies. :facepalm

Incredible outfit :cheers

My new inspiration (y)

My only question is where did you get the flight suit from?

The flight suit is a Bobamaker flight suit but the color was pretty off so i did a number of RIT dye sessions to get it where its at now.

Thanks for the info :D .

Also did you make the jet pack?

My last question, whats the armor made out of?

Sorry for all the questions, just was curious because I'll be trying to make a Jango costume sometime in the future.

Thanks

I got the gauntlets darts and rocket in the mail today, but the 6 small darts on the right gaunt are a little on the big side and I am scared to drill larger holes in the old MOW gauntlet. What do you guys suggest?

It's been a long time since you posted on this progress. Curious if you're in the 501st as well? I'm sure there are a lot of events up your way.

UPDATE! Sorry I haven't been updating recently, just been really busy with the holidays and seeing fam. GOOD NEWS! Thanks to my lovely girlfriend and Cruzer's awesomeness I got the last bit of armor I needed to finish my Jango!!!! Totally the best xmas present of all! I have finished rnb on the shins and gauntlets and now I need to trim the backplate and rnb that as well. I just need to wait for the weather to calm down a bit so that I can spend a good amount of time outside doing that. More progress pics coming soon!

Here's what you need to do if you want your knees to fit snug.

Attach a pair of female snaps to the knees. I made a slight hole in my fiberglass knees, then glued down the snaps, then added some bondo for support around the snap. as seen in picture one.

Disregard the snap right in the center of the knee, that was during my trial periods. It's not in use, but that one clearly shows the example on how to attach the snap.

Then get some elastic and sew the male snaps to them. Make sure to make the elastic nice and tight so that it snugs your knee tightly.

Then offcourse add the holes in your jumpsuit to slide the elastic in.

Make sure you have all your armor on before you make the hole in your jumpsuit. make sure its lined up correctly where you want your knees.

I hope these pictures help.

Turo
