My internal struggle rages on.........

Robert A Fett

New Hunter
Boba or Jango?? I see one and say that's it. Then, I see a pic of the other and then I get torn and say, No that's it. Arrrggghhhh!! There is something about Boba's worn and weathered look, but the clean, shiny lines of Jango's armor are sweet! I have a bunch of questions that may help in my decision making process. 1)The only major differences are the jet pack and the soft parts, right? 2)Are there a few, quality makers of Jango gear here on this site? 3) How difficult is it to get the hand of Rub and Buff?(That stuff kinda worries me.) 4) How hard is it to find the available parts?(I spent about a year overpaying for a set of armor and all the associated parts. It was a night mare of waiting and hoping. I don't care to repeat that.) I'm sure I have others, but they escape me right now. I'm sure I'll bore you all with them at a later date. Thanks for your time. or :confused

Boba or Jango??
If you are really that torn, the only 'right' answer is 'both'.

1)The only major differences are the jet pack and the soft parts, right?
Define major? Big differences? The gauntlets are different. The buckets. The weapons. Shin tools. The knees are different. The way the armor attaches.

2)Are there a few, quality makers of Jango gear here on this site?
This newbie thinks so!
3) How difficult is it to get the hand of Rub and Buff?(That stuff kinda worries me.)
It's not.

Not sure what other armor you had a nightmare time getting assembling. It takes time, effort, and money (some assembly skill defiantly goes a long, long way). It's not really a cheap hobby, even if you made everything from scratch since you still spend time and raw materials. And time is a very precious commodity to me.

I don't know a lot (I know some) about Boba, but I am going to go out on a limb and say that Jango and Boba are completely different... They are similar is some aspects (the helmet, the armor, the flight suit they all have the same overall look/design...) Pretty much nothing is the same except maybe the classic jet pack...even the paint job is different. Either way you will probaby spend about the same for both... Boba might be a little more expensive, but not by much.

I'm doing Jango only because I started working on a Zam for my wife.

1)I guess, eventually, yes both will he on the horizon for me. 2)I know a lot of the minor differences(gauntlets, weapons, etc.). I guess I should have been a bit more specific with what I meant by "major." 3) that's good to know about the Rub and Buff. and 4)the costume I was refering to was a Snowtrooper. Mukluks, armor, reference pics, greeblies for chest armor and back pack, etc. Stuff was never available. Vendors were scarce and when I could find them, they were always out of stock. Long story! If any one has some vendors(Jango) that they'd like to suggest, I'm all ears. Thanks for the help and sorry I wasn't more specific in the previous post.

P.S.-Is this the Satxer from the Ohio garrison?

Yes, this is Satxer from OG. I wasn't planning on informing the garrison of my newest costume that will be debuted by march. I like keeping things a mystery when it comes to new projects.

I'll second that!

Yeah, this is a question no one but you can answer.

I like both sets of armor. My first set of armor I made to look a lot like Boba's but I found that I really dont like wearing armor in that many different colors (yellow, green, red, tan, grey) - so my second set will be more uniform in color and less battle damaged (complete custom).

So the question really is - do you like the cleaner, less scratched, more matched armor of Jango or the heavily battle scarred, multi-colored look of Boba more?

It will be easier to find Boba parts. A few parts have several makers. The Jango stuff goes on sale for awhile then it's gone till the next run, unless you can find it used. Jango boots are almost impossible to find, the blasters are hard to find, unless you want to pay and arm and a leg. There are a couple of makers you definitely need to get Jango parts from, BKBT and Cruzer. Sometimes they have other things going, whereas I've seen all kinds of vac'd Boba armor for sale here recently. I know Steelblitz has been slowed down just trying to find the accurate parts for his Jango. (You buy armor, but the knees aren't being made right now, or you run into some other delay.)

Jango 5204, that kind of delay stuff sounds like what I ran into before and I don't want to repeat it! SarlaccBits, that is pretty much the bulk of my dilema. Boba is rough and tough. Pretty bad ***. Jango is slick and shiny. Also, bad ***. So I ask myself, do I like the guy that caught Solo more than I do the guy that pimped out his DNA to make an entire clone army?Hmmm.....

P.S.-Satxer, don't worry! Mum's the word on your latest creation. We only have one Jango in all of Ohio and it's high time we got another!

not to get off track here, but i just wanted to say WOW those boots would definitely work!

but yeah, i just started a jango and even though there are some elusive parts im okay with waiting a bit for them to come in. it took me a few weeks to do my helmet and in that time ive seen a whole bunch of runs for jango gear on the boards.

You may also want to consider which Fett is less/not represented in your local 501st garrison and/or area! It's what helped me decide on a Jango Open Seasons' suit. Considering EU characters as well, opens up your options a little.;)

Yeah, that is another thing that draws me back to Jango. We only have one in the whole state. Thanks guys. I think all this advise and discussion has helped me make my decision. Soon I will have to start contacting people for prices and availability. But who?.....

BKBT is a very reputable maker of Fett armor. A few others (and im sure im missing some) are bradleyfett, MOW, Fettpride...etc... i'd say be prepared to drop at least $2000 on either suit you choose to do.

For me the big problem(as it pretains to purcasing items) is where I live(Alabama) there are not many sources or ppl near me(I think?) to purchase items in person.
If I am going to be spending upwards of $2000 for qualtiy parts I dont want to have to wait months and from reading other ppls horror stories of "over the computer" sales make me nervous.
But all of above is "mute" since I dont have the funds to spend until my new job takes flight and I get caught up on over due bills :(

Yeah, at the moment we have about a...6-8 Boba's in Ohio, while we have I think 1 Jango, and being I am in the north, it makes it easier to not worry as much. See our main problem in Northern Ohio to Central Ohio, we have...4 or 5.than from central to Southern I think we have at least 1 or 2.

I forgot where exactly the Jango in our garrison is. All I know is I can handle the north, and still have Boba to switch over onto. Plus my scout in the unlikely that I can't go either Boba or Jango at an event.

Ohio's Jango is in Cincy. SW corner of our great state. Absolute complete polar opposite of Cleveland. You get the North, he gets the South. Works out good.
