Jango metal bucket WIP

This is a little WIP that I've been working on lately. Since I don't do plastic work, I said to heck with it and started building a metal helmet utilizing WOF templates and a metal hardhat dome.

The paint that I picked up is darn close to the colors used on the original kit. I picked up valspar aerosol sea blue and deep sea blue. I'm not big on mixing paint brands. In that pic, the dome is just sitting on the helmet body. After it is riveted and sealed in place, it will look better. I also got the metal strip to strengthen the lower section of the helmet.

The dome is an old metal hardhat that I bought. I just cut the brim off. The nice thing is that it has the head webbing in it still and it is at the right height. The WOF templates saved my bacon on the body of the helmet. The dome on this one is steel and I originally wanted an aluminum one, but you gotta take what you can get though.

Helo. Any one home? echo echo echo echo echo....

What hapend here a mass slaughter? No, couldn't be. WAIT! What was that? (Intense blaster fire) Man, I don't know about you guys, but I'm outa here. (Jetpack noises and then silence)

I found the steel hardhat on craigslist (seen a few on ebay also). I used a dremel with the heavy duty cut off wheel to cutoff the brim.It took a while to cut it out because I had to keep letting the dremel cool down (smoked up twice). Sanding the steel to a shine was a pain (took about 5 hours of sanding by hand). I applied the pin stripes and let it sit for a day before putting the clearcoat to it.
