Helmet Versus Nose!

lol..
This is an odd question but:

I have aquired one of Asok's very nice Cold Cast Jango helmet's based on his new molds and am thrilled to pieces.. But.. I have a question.

I am a pretty small guy. 5' 9" 180 lbs or so (yes I'm a little overweight currently) and I would not have thought that I have that big a head, however when I put my lovely helmet on my head, it smooshes my nose a bit.

Now granted: there is no padding yet in the helmet and the visor area has not been cut out and replaced with a real visor yet but i would not imagine that those modifications will affect this that much.

It's not particularly painful or anything but I imagine for trooping it would grow to be awkward if not abrasive?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Othere than that detail, the helmet looks to fit well. It is close quarters inside but I don't look like a bobble head with it on. How much room should I expect to have in this thing?

Are other helmets all that different in the front to back dimension? Have I missed something?

Thoughts and comments appreciated. :)

Thanks.

You are not the only one that this happens to. I'm 6'6" and well, huge, and my nose in one of these helmets is pretty much at a 90 degree angle. I've heard of people placing pads on the forehead region to counter it, by pushing the helmet more forward of your head.

Gotta remember that this helmet was pretty much built around Morrison, so just gotta deal unfortunatly, cause I don't know any alternative or way of physically fixing it...that is, unless you get nose reduction surgery, and that's taking it pretty far lol..

I'm 5'7, 160 lbs. Every single helmet I've ever owned, my nose touches the visor. I think its unavoidable with the shape of the helmet.

I have the same problem with the screen cast sized helmet, so unfortunately I can never wear one.:facepalm

Even Temuera had a squished nose

Ah I was just curious. Live and learn!

Do most of you find that it's okay for trooping anyway?

I'm glad to hear I'm not some freakishly large individual though lol.

you'll find that once you cut the visor area out and install the visor it might make a little difference, depending on what you use for the visor and how it is fixed.
