Finally Finished my FP ILM CC helmet

Yep, finally started it. When I got the helmet, it need 2 more layers for fiberglass, CC keyslots, RF and RF stalk. After over a year of research, I found somebody else with a keyslot, RF, and RF stalk all cast from the real thing that did not come from FP. I have had to do a lot of cleaning of the parts to get them to look like the real thing. The RF stalk is the only one I had made of stainless steel. The rest I had made are aluminum.

I just pealed the tape off. So, I need to do some clean up, put the rest of the finished parts on, weather it and it should be done! Just hoping when I get the quote for my new vac table, I do not need to sell it to raise money.

One photo is with and on without flash.

Oh wow, this is actually one of the first build up threads Ive seen for a ILM CC helmet. Its probably the lighting, but is the silver areas really that dull, or is it much shinier in person?

Great job on the painting so far!

It is not super shinny for 2 reasons. 1. I have yet to polish it from taking the tape off. 2. The real thing does not look to be that shinny as well. See photo below.

Nice job so far. Im liking it. I agree that super shiny isnt always good for a good jango. The screen used prop was somewhere in between Dull and Shiny.

Yes cold cast will dull due to handling, a good solid polish with any good car polish (I recommend Autosol) will give you a much more shiny appearance but as has been mentioned the actual prop is NOT mirror shiny, nice work keep those pics coming!!! (y)

Well, almost done! I found a shade 5 visor and used the holes in it to hold it into the helmet. It is a very dark green. The cool thing is that all it needs is the 3 screws in the top and that's it! I also found the right size mesh for the keyslots. The real thing show 7 squares and now so does mine.

All I need to do now is dirty it up and bolt in the RF. Not sure what I think about that. It is nice an clean. Oh well. :D
