2016 Edition of Jango's Boots

New Hunter
I crawled through the old threads for alternatives to the fabled Kenneth Cole Pit Crew boots and most have become unavailable themselves so I went looking for more possible alternatives. Wolverine boots still got it. But does the stitchingon the side of the shoe pose a problem for Jango boots? It's already got the silver thing going for it right off the bat :D

The arch looks closer on these two pairs but you will still probably have to make some modifications to them. Personally I have a pair of Crow62 boots but have been looking for an alternative since I really don't want to wear down my Crow62 boots.

Those are good too! And lucky, you got a pair of Crow's too. That would make life easier

How do you find this stuff?! I was on eBay earlier sifting through pages of boots and didn't find anything half as close as that. If someone can just rip the soles off those suede boots and slap it on some black leather that would be fantastic. Although those are a bit too small for me anyways since I wear a size 9. One of Crow's very last post said I should go to Cruzer since he'll just make the orders that Cruzer takes?

I guess I just get lucky. I did know that Prada had a run of shoes and boots that used that style of sole so I started my search there, between that and knowing that hiking boots seem to be where that high arch style of sole seems to be most prominent.
I would recommend sending Cruzer a PM to see if he can still get them.

I don't sell them and never accepted any payments for any of Crow's boots. I would just ship the remaining he sent me from his last run to their new owners. So anyone looking for boots would have to contact Crow. [emoji106]

That Wolverine boot is a really good substitute. Once the foot armor is on it will look the part.

Hey I heard about you. You make some legendary stuff. If you say those shoes work then hmmmm

I just found a pair of those Prada boots in a size 10 if anybody is interested. They are a little pricey though.

Those shoes do not want to make things easier. Even after getting them you'll still need to throw like a gallon black ink on those shoes to fix the color

I completely agree with you. Even after throwing the dye on those shoes it still won't look right because they are suede, but if going for a replica of the Kenneth Cole Pit Crew boot and you can't get any from Crow then those soles would be the next best thing for a starting point. They would have to be disassembled and then you would have to make the leather and canvas part of the boot (the upper) to match the KC boot and then glue and stitch the upper, insole, and sole together. You would also probably need get a last to stretch the leather of the upper so that the shape is right. Or if you have a boot maker close by you could ask and see if they could make it. Either way it will be labor intensive or if you pay somebody to do the work for you it probably won't be cheap.
It all depends on how much effort you want to put into matching the boots to the originals.

I am actually thinking about buying a pair of those Wolverine boots for general trooping just so I don't wear out my Crow boots.

My cousin owns a shoe store so I had her order me these Wolverines. They do look pretty good. What looks to be grey in the photo on the bottom is actually reflective. It looks more white than grey in real life. I'm going to try to paint over it and see how it looks. A plus is they're very comfortable! I'm going to try to make them work to save some miles on my Crow boots. I'll update with progress.

Just a thought, maybe try some Rub-N-Buff (silver) on the painted area? It should be flexible enough so it doesn't crack but I don't know how well it will stick, if it doesn't work a little mineral spirits should take it right off. Just make sure the mineral spirits doesn't react negatively on the rubber.

Please keep us up to date on the progress of these.

I had the same problem when I searched for the boots. And they were too small for me too (I wear a 13) Lol.
