What do you guys think about this bucket?

Hey guys, first post on this forum. Happy to be here now.

I'm looking at this helmet and trying to determine if it's worth getting. I'd build my own, however; I don't have the time to do that with my busy schedule. I plan on making a suit in free time and wanted to get the helmet out of the way. I mainly plan to troop in it after putting padding and such in it later down the road. I think this is the ESB bucket? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Does it look like the Mystery Helmet style or Don Post? (Looks like Mystery Helm I think)

LED lights on range finder?

Finally, Is this a Rubie Co bucket? (not sure how they spell it)

Green Visor? can't really tell.

Thanks guys.

depending on how much they want for it its just okay...I wouldnt honestly pay more then $275 shipped for that...it needs a repaint

It's not great but there's worse to be had. IMO I think that would pass 501st CRLS. Like F4R said, just don't put down too much cash.

>Update<

Helmet arrived yesterday; absolutely love it!!
Thank you guys for your input! I'm going to improve it paint wise over time.

..it needs a repaint

Sorry for being this thread back alive; I've examined a lot of reference photos on 501st (it does pass crl the way it is by the way), and as well here on the forum. The paint job is great in my opinion and I felt the seller's photos didn't give it any justice. Just the only 2 things I do want to alter however, is the paint on the dent and the range finder.

What I want to do to the dent is mainly this: make the dent a bit more whitish and add a bit of darkness around the dent. The thing is, I don't know the best way to approach this; spray paint, air brush? I don't know and wanted to get advice.

For the range finder, it's not necessary but replacing the current one with an aluminum hollowed out one to be able to run wires in it to make working red LED's.

Thanks.

You don't need a hollow stalk to have a functional rangefinder. There are a few members here (including myself) that make kits that do not need a hollow stalk.
Now if you want to be close to movie accuracy, you will need a hollow stalk and a honeywell micro switch (1sx1-t) to get the lights to turn on when the RF is down.

RepubliCOmmando, I would definitely use an airbrush for such a small area as around the dent. A rattlecan spray pattern is too wide and too uncontrollable. I'm sure some are adept at rattlecan use and could do this, but for the control factor an airbrush is the way to go for this small job in my opinion. Jc27 ^ makes a great light kit BTW.

@Fett4Real&Saint, I am no graffiti artist haha, so I'd would probably have to invest in a air brush and watch a few vids and practice on card board or something at first to get the feel of it.

@Jc27, I'll send you a PM soon!

:cheers

Ok, just let me now when you are ready for one. And FFo$, great trick. That sent looks really good.
