One of the things that always bothered me about the DP and Rubies Helmets was that the RF EARCAP seemed to stick out too far. The screen used helmet earcap had alot lower profile and was almost flush with the lower portion of the right 'ear'. Here are some pic's of my scratchbuilt RF CAP compared to the stock RF CAP. The stock CAP is the first picture. My scratchbuilt cap is the second picture.

I used sheet styrene and bondo.

The thinner top bit looks so much better

I did the same thing with mine, it worked well.
