scratchbuild pvc helmet!

that is truly brilliant that you were able to construct it with mostly just pvc. the only constructive criticism i can offer is that the front looks a little flat from the wide pvc cut from the dome

-=QuinN!

yes, you are rigth....I hope that when I sand a little more the dome, it will we more accurate....the pvc is thicker alot to let me make it change.......or at lest that`s what I hope.......:confused

here some more pics of the RF...........

Man, that is IMPRESSIVE! I'll bet that bucket can take some abuse, too. Isn't PVC thicker and stronger than Sintra (foamed PVC)? What have you been using to cut and sand with?

thanks to all!

well, SHunter, this bucket is very solid, this pvc is thicker than sintra ,I guess (cause here in spain I don´t find it yet to compare:lol: ), the grey pvc I have used, is 0,3 cm, and the orange one, is 0,4 cm.....
I have use a hand saw, and a dremmel in the difficult parts.......the pvc is easily sandable, just like wood..........
I don´t know how you glue the sintra, but the superglue work great in pvc....
thanks for reading....
now I´m cutting the shaped arrows!!!!
later more pics.........

well, today I attach the leds inside, by the way, the transparent part in the RF is suposed to go illuminated too? cause I have put a big white light in, and was really cool........I don´t post it cause don´t know if it´s in the REAL BOBA, but it´s look realy cool( and in cause the light goes off, you could go around the house as a "walking lintern mando"...... )

well, here are the pics of the RF finished, also is a detail; the transparent part goes attached to the RF body, by a magnet, so it can be turn on-of real easy.....

and just to show you how much I like to work with pvc, I post the pics of one of the 3 pvc katanas, that I made just to try something new, and now I can say PVC, I LOVE YOU!!!

(y) One word. Bravo.(y)

I've been reading through this and you've blown me away. I'm soon to start my bucket and I had my doubts but you've just shown that with some great patterns, a little know how, and patience it can be done.

Well done fella.

thanks to all!!!!!
I tried to do this the better way I could, I know my limits, this helmet is FAR, FAR to be comparated with the props that are around there, but it´s all that much I can pull off......it´s not perfect, BUT I´M VERY HAPPY WITH IT!!!!!
thanks again, dented fellows:D ....

right now I´m putting some color on this.....
here, the silver coats.......
