"It\'s not easy being green"* Colors are now here ****

The Tuscan and Imperial Naval Green look dead-on to me. I don't know where people are getting this "bluish-green" from.

Hey Webchief!!
I found the Japanese Navy Green but only by Tamiya, will this still work?

I've slowly started weathering my helmet. It's far from finished, but I just added the silver to the mandibles and had to share. It's just crazy what the flash will do to the colors.

Hey Boba Phat, a couple questions for you: ;)

Did you paint the kill marks on? (if yes, did you use a template?)
Do you use the Grun for the left earpiece too?
What is your visor made of?
And shouldn't the upper cheeks be a more flatter black?
Finally, what different colors did you use in that pic for the scratches?

Thanks! And sorry for all the questions! :D

PS: That helmet looks phat dude! I mean it!! I can't wait to see the rest of the weathering!

Just checking in for any updates on unidentifieds.

I hate to seem like a vulture, picking at the advice and (possibly, very) expensive research of others. I did want to say thanks, if I haven't already for all of this.

THANKS!

Geoff

P.S. As far as I can see with my very unauthoratative eyes, everyone that has begun painting using the prescribed colors is pulling it off with amazing results!

Boba Phat, how did you do your wheathering? It looks great so far! Did you add it on after painting the other colors, or did paint your bucket silver first and then mask it off? These colors are looking great on your buckets!!

Sorry, but I just read through this post (again) and wanted to revive it with two questions:

Is the Tuscan Red what we have decided on?
What happened to the ROTJ colors?

And if there hasnt been anything found yet for the ROTJ colors what is everyone using? I didnt like the colors I chose last time.

Hey, guys thought I would revive this old thread and see if anyone has any knew discoveries and ask if anyone has used Euro Dark Green (Model Master) for the Blueish Green?

I used the Euro Dark Green for the back of mine and for the armor. I think it looks pretty nice, but hey, that's just me!

This maybe a silly question but anyone know the blueish green color that is the upper cheaks on the pre-pro #2 suit? Same question for the mandibles?

Last edited by a moderator:
The inner cheek color for the 2nd PrePro (not the eyes helmet) is pretty much the color they used on Jedi. I think they did go back and weather the cheeks for Jedi, though making them a bit more "grey."

Sorry...just moving this thread up to the
top of the list so i can find it easier next
time around. I'll be getting my MLC Boba helmet
soon (hopefully), so i wanted to revisit this
thread to get the closest to correct ESB paints.

This is an excellent thread!!!

Can anyone tell me a source for this stuff in the UK, and specifically what I'm looking for given that most of the brands mentined look US-only?

Many thanks
