ROTJ Helmet painting Tutorials

Hi Folks,

This is my first post on here and i just want to say what a great board this is... with a wealth of knowledge from all over the world, my name is Ian and i am the XO of the UK Garrison and live just outside Glasgow, this is my first go at a Fett costume and painting a Helmet such as this for that matter so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am unsure if this question has been asked before so please excuse my ignorance if it has, i have just bought my first Boba maker helmet and wish to paint it in the ROTJ style paint job but i am not sure where to begin, so i was hoping there was a tutorial some where that would help.

Could anyone point me in the right direction please, as i am based in the UK does anyone know what is the best paint to use , i know it is best to use water based paints but what are the best colours to use.

Thanks in advance of any replies.

Welcome Ian..

Here's a link to my ESB MS2. You can use the Same Techniques on the ROTJ...But the correct colors have yet to be Identified..http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showthread.php?t=7165

Hi Ian,

Glad to have you join us! Its always nice to have some more UK based TDHers!

Personally I always start from the bottom, and begin with the base colour of silver, others tend to apply their colours topically. In terms of paint, Hobbycraft is the best place to go, Bobamaker has put together a list of colurs for a helmet, but thats for an ESB. Try searching for the 'UK paints' thread.

I have used a humbrol acrylic spray for my helmet, which I think is quite accurate. I think I used light olive drab.

Good luck with your project!
